I loved knowing I had friends all over the world, in a manner of speaking. It was an instant bond when we went anywhere. It all ended abruptly though. So much for "friends".

Growing up as a Dub, I always wished it wasn't true. Being dragged to meeting, ministry and Bible studies made me so frustrated and unhappy. As I grew older and being an elders son, I was prime target for accusations and gossip and was always being pulled up for unruly, unchristian like behaviour - Geez, if I'd have known then what I know now.

Yes, many, many times. I used to think how nice it would be if the "once saved always saved" christians were right. Get saved and then don't sweat life. Just live and try to be nicey nice and if you goof, no problem cuz Jesus loves you.

    Meetings bored me silly.

I couldn't abide door to door work.

I never studied voluntarily, just a 5 minute skim the through the Watchtower before the meeting started.

Worst experience ever was door-knocking on Christmas morning. God, I hated that!

As for the restrictions as to what you could and couldn't do....ye gods!

    Yeah, all of that.

That's why I never got dunked.

..... so I'm not an apostate.

.....and I can say what I like

.....and I'm still not an apostate.

....just a silly [deleted] for believing it their [deleted] anyway. (just saved the mods a job)

After my father died I constantly wished that it wasn't true...he was a staunch unbeliever. Also, when I was around my friends in high school (and later, my workmates), I also thought "how can God just kill off so many people that are good people at heart...just because they didn't hear someone peddling a magazine?!".

    I enjoy being a Witness.

Meetings are boring, but better than nothing and needs to be improved.

    Field service can be improved.

The restrictions are not a problems as those are things we should not be doing anyway.

I would enjoy it better if all the worldly people were God's people.

Ha! Let's take a peek at some of the restictions then. Chaperoning, that's really good fun isn't it. Take a third party with you when you want a cosy evening with your ever-loving. Boxing? What would they say if you went to a boxing match? If you didn't go because you found it uninspiring then fair enough. But suppose you didn't go because it had been deemd as an unfitting activity for a "Servant of the most high God"? Feel free to add more. How about a discourse on wanking? Englishman.
