You've got to be kidding. Ours as well as ANY politician has many bedfellows who influence them. There are very few politicians of any political persuasion that can think for themselves and make decisions for the public good. This has gone on since the beginning of time. To single out one group is ludicrous, but effective in focusing hate in one direction. Unfortunately, "hatred" in any form, is hard to recall once started, and can bring about the death of many innocent people, including small children.

of course there are several interest groups trying to influence politics. but the 2 most powerful ones in the US are the industry and jewish interest groups. are you aware of how many jewish people were in clintons and how many are in bush's administration? i am sorry but i refuse to brush this under the carpet because of what happened 60 years ago. even if the whole holocaust story is true without exaggeration it is still a mistake to make them and everything they do sacro saint. these people have to much influence and are at least parially responsible for the whole mess in the middle east.

Did you also know that on 9/11 that the World Trade Center wasn't really attacked.... it too was an "exaggeration".. those buildings just fell (faulty inspections, I guess)... - That's what some under 35 year old will be saying 30 years from now when history will be 'revised' for whatever politically expediant reason. In L.A., once in a while, one can still see a few old people with tatooed numbers marked on their arms by the Nazis... but within a few year, they too will be gone and stories like yours will be believed by other guillible people. Very sad.

what is very sad is that it is impossible to talk logically and civilized about this matter without being acused of being a nazi or whatever crap. just for your info i do not in any way condone what happened regardless of the actual size of the holocaust. it was uncivilized and barbaric like the whole damn war.
also nobody questions the existence of concentration camps, or the tatooing of numbers, the death of a large number of people and the anexation of wealth. however, the actual number of killed people is far from being certain and neither is the number of jews living in the areas controlled by germany at any time during the war. for instance until about 10 years ago it was claimed that 4 million people were killed in auschwitz...this number was then reduced by the polish government to 1.2 million. the ovens you mentioned were incapable of buring the number of claimed victims etc.
this does not make the whole thing a lot better but the true numbers are of some relevance.

Big difference. One was a national policy of total elimination of a race. The August 1945 dropping of the bombs brought a final end to WWII.... a war that was brought to us. FACT: the bomb saved an estimated several million American and Japanese lives along with thousands of British and American prisoners of war. Orders had already been given to slaughter the prisoners if Japan was invaded. Additionally, Germany was attempting to develop the atomic bomb and plans had been made to use a long range bomber to unload it over New York City.

Because you immediately assumed I was a republican. Due to the fact that my earlier thread title had inferences about Bush in it you wrongfuly assumed I was a Bushite. I have never had the government do anything for me in my life except screw me over. I have achieved everything in life (the little I have achieved) in spite of the government. I truly could not wish for anything but less government. Of course Repulicans will dishonestly say they are for less government - they just want a government that forces religion down people's throats.
As I have said before Bush sucks...Kerry just sucks worse IMO. Given the choice of the evils I have to go with Bush.
