welcome art,
I am newly exited too and just landed this site about 6 weeks ago now--didn't even know stuff like this exited out in cyberspace (was still fearing the evil fanged foaming at the mouth religious zealot apostates). Been purging a lot since then as I just looked and I am up to about 250 posts already--yikes hope I'm not coming across as a raving lunatic! But doing this has brought me to peace with some of the subjects that haunted me over my 20 years of captivity in the Org. This is my first year of not attending the big "M" and I have been hanging around this site a lot today reading the posts here, because even though a team of wild horses could drag me back into the KH there is still some emotional triggers that are coming upon me right now. Doesn't help when you have had JWs coming around and reminding you about the memorial every 5 minutes--well, slight exaggeration but...did have the elders stop by again this morning to remind me to remember that this is the biggest deal of the year in case I may now have become so spiritually weak that I forget what day it is...So glad you landed here. I will look for you in the chat sometime...

Some are struggling with their journey, others have found their way and some I still haven't quite figured out why they are here, but their posts are interesting! Welcome to the board ART!
I did went to the memorial for a reality check. It was dreadful. It made me realize how much I have grown mentally since I stopped going. How silly it all is, having an outside observer's view instead of a member's view. It was mentally tormenting. So safe to say you didn't miss much.

well, you made the right choice! unfortunatatly I didn't. I asked myself the same question and dicided to go. really big mistake! The way I feel right now I will never step foot in a kingdom hall again.
