While I myself didn't feel this way regarding the 2nd UN mail campaign, I applaud all of you for your efforts and for standing up for what you think is right.

Point of clarification. This is the fourth letter writing campaign that I have been involved in.

    sf,

Thanks for posting this which is or should be consistent with the others and thanks for your help.

Be advised that there is more going on than meets the eye.

Just to say that I have had exactly the same problems . After buying a scanner specifically to use here, figuring out how to scan successfully , I post things up. and the blooming thing does not show . I am still working on it .

Gotcha hawk. I figured as much. Thanks.

Yea blue, I got it to upload yet it was enormous in size. So I just typed out the contents. I wanted the lurkers to see that it did actually come from the U.N. office, complete with its letterhead.

    I'll figure it out soon. I'm a quik-study.

    SF,

I generally do my scanning via Photoshop. After I've done the scan, I click on "image" then "resize" it to around 40%. That comes out about right. Save it as a "Jpeg".If you then upload it to a website such as this one: http://fotopic.net/ you will be able to upload it. Then just click on the thumbnail there, the pic will enlarge, right click and paste the URL displayed in the "Insert picture from" web link above to post it here.

Sorry if you know all that already.

    Englishman.

Scan your image at 200 dpi (dots per inch at least) resolution. Then save it as a tiff file. It will be big but the quality will be excellent and able to be used later.

Then reduce the resolution to 72 dpi and SAVE AS a jpg file. This shrinks it a lot so you will be able to post it on the net. (jpg files deteriorate every time you save it so to keep a good tiff copy for printout on your computer (for copies). For internet use upload the jpg file.

    sf,

I finally got my letter but the scanner and computer I had were ripped off. So I will be in a holding pattern for it to be put up on the db.

Gee, Hoeffel signed this one in blue instead of black. Note: I'll be sending it off by facsimile to someone shortly.

As for the opinion that the letter on the UN web site is coming down off the UN web site. Its not. In fact a number of the UN departments are directing people to the DPI web site to view the WT letter via letters or telephone calls.

    Take care,

    hawk
