How do Americans feel about Canadians and Britons interjecting their opinions onto hot localized political topics: gun laws, abortion, ect?

Simon... you dont like the superbowl???  Mods... how do we get this guy banned??

    I jest...

On the face of it I personally do not like hearing brits or canadians opinions about our issues, I guess in the same way I did not like hearing "worldly" people talk about us dubs when I was in.  I get defensive and think "they dont understand our culture (guns)" and "we have the best hospitals in the world" but the bottom line is if you make a good point and can back it up with sound logic then it really doesnt matter where you come from.

Yes, I can understand Americans who get pissed off when someone from another country sticks their nose into something they don't understand.

It is sort of like Ellen Degeneres mouthing off about the seal hunt in Canada when she knows nothing at all about it. Or some celebrity from Britain deciding that they have the right to disrupt traditional Canadian hunting that has been done for centuries. It is called wildlife management, you idiots!

So, on one hand, we have the know-nothing celebrities taking shots at the Canadian seal hunting, and then on the other hand, we have the ultra rich American hunters coming up from Texas and shooting our cattle because they think they are moose!

I'm British and I love guns.

However, I'm also totally convinced that I'm the only non-military person on this sceptered isle that should be allowed to own one.

Strange that a Texan, of all people, would think a bovine was a moose. Must  have needed glasses. Maybe he was related to Dick Cheney. We live in the wilderness too, a lot of bears around here, they come right up to our house and scare the livestock. A gun makes sense in some situations.

I think it may be the mentality that anything north of the border on four legs must be wild. Or maybe it was one of those Texan city folks.

The stories of Americans, not just Texans, coming to Canada and making asses of themselves while hunting are numerous and hilarious. More than one truck has been spotted with a dead animal in the back and once you get closer you see the moose tag hanging off either a horse ear or a cow ear! And that is NOT a Canadian legend - it is real.

The USA would be much more civilised if it were still a British colony

I feel that this all can be summed up with the popular dictum "Haters gonna hate"

If Britain or Canada don't like our gun laws they can just invade us with their little armies.
