I know a number of persons that remained as JWs because they desperately wanted to see their loved ones come back from the grave and be there to welcome them. They were afraid that if they died at Armageddon or were not totally faithful that there would be a great possibility of never seeing them again........Was that "ressurection hope" a big draw for you remaining a Witness?
Did The "Ressurection Hope" Keep You Involved As A Witness?

When my sister died at 6 months my mother fell into her crib crying
a sister told her to pull herself together as by her behavior she was showing she didnt believe in the resurrection
my mother waited for 86 years
and then she died

galaxy - so typical of the insensitivity so many Witnesses develop toward death and other people's grief - I was the same way, I regret to realize, until I stopped being influenced by Witness teachings, and until I experienced the pain of the death of a loved one for the first time (my mother, though already disfellowshipped for smoking, would not take a blood transfusion).
Then I started becoming a human being.
Minimus, no, the resurrection teaching did not influence me to stay. I just thought it was the truth, so I thought I had to stay, regardless of not fitting in.

Nope.
Anyone ever read Philip Jose Farmer's Riverworld series? Scifi had a 2 hour movie on last night. It's about resurrection.

But technically your loved ones would not come back in the "resurrection". Copies of them would be recreated out of God's "memory". Not a very satisfying "hope".

I always thought of wanting to see my beloved grandmother again and that was a major reason for me staying the course.

I think the "resurrection hope" is as valid today as when Jesus spoke of it at John5:28,29. Will I be there to see it? No I don't think so, not if my recent performance is anything to go by. Acts 24:15

It's something my sisters continue to use to try and lure me back...what will we tell mom & dad when they are resurrected and you aren't there???
I told them to tell mom & dad that I didn't care to worship a God that advocates the breaking up of families and has so little tolerance, love and mercy.
So no mini it did not then nor does it now keep me involved as a witness.

Tell them that you'll tell your parents yourself when you see them in heaven.
