Our WT study conductor was a big Minnesota Vikings (American football) fan. Once during a huge Vikings-Dallas Cowboys game on a Sunday afternoon, he rushed the study along so that it ended at least 15 minutes early so that he could go home and watch the game.
I don't think most people in the auditorium really cared.
My son became the expert at using the web on his cell phone during the dull times.
We were always trying to rush our elder Dads home fast to watch the games.
On a hockey note, me and Quotes and his brothers got reamed for playing penny hockey in the KH basement.

I don't think anyone listened at the hall but I know their was a rush to get home and watch the taped game before anyone could tell you the score.

Listening to sport on their radios in the meetings, eh?? Yeah, we've seen that downunder too! In fact, one of our illustrious posters who hasn't posted in a while (Younger Tom) was renowned for it! He loved the cricket!! Well, if you could hear the Public (re-run) Talk, who could blame him??

I remember frequently going out to my car to check on scores all the time - esp. when on attendant duty.
The topic also reminds me of when the assembly hall in our city was being built. We would be assigned guard duty overnight inside the partially completed building. We brought our hockey sticks one night and played a game inside the assembly hall. We were chastised about it a little after the fact, but really what could be said?
