I have a friend who is an Eldub and he just completed Elder's school! What did he learn? As far as I can tell, he learned:

    1) Jehovah knows if you fake it.

    2) If you are not spiritual, you will crumble during the GT.

    3) The "world" is designed to make you forget "Jehovah" of the Watchtower. ( No shocker there)

    4) Supporting Jeehoober means recognizing his right to rule. You obey because you want to.

So who has been to the "school"?? It seems my friend talks big, but hates his existence more than ever. He needs to do more, be more, be a true "spiritual" man. He hates his work because of toxic worldly people, especially gays.

Well, that's about it, all I can think of for now.

It is just a management meeting where they teach the frontline managers (elders) how to enforce WT rules and regulations. In essence they get directions as to handling difficult cases within the congregation and if any hot issue is brought up like "child molestation " the answer is call the legal department. They never mention a single word about loving others like Jesus did and always look for ways to maintain the organization's reputation clean, with the excuse that they are cleaning God's house.

Oh, I hear they now have mock judicial committees at some of them.
They come back and say they learned so much "spiritual" stuff as if they really think they learned how to have the spirit upon what they do.  All they learn is procedure and legalistic stuff.  The schools are loaded with "Contact the legal dept." instructions and "Don't say..../Don't do...." instructions.

Iam scheduled to go but haven't yet.

So this is what I have to look forward to:

    1) Guilt

    2) Fear

    3) Fear

    4) Guilt

Sounds like par for the course.  It's such a good ole boys club just with religious overtones. Basically it's like there's an unspoken agreement. The Org. will prop up elders and tell the flock elders are used for a special service by Jehovah - if the elders agree to follow their rules and respect the chain of command. It's a "We will stroke your back if you stroke our's" kind of thing. I mean it is palpable when you are in those meetings.

I sure I am not alone in this, but I have never understood the witnesses disdain and homophobia. I mean I understand why from there explanation but not really why any person can act so hateful towards another. I have worked with many gay people over the years and the majority were more christlike than most dubs. Kind, loving, generous. They have great senses of humor and are generally just fun and cool. When I was young like 20 years ol my boss was as gay as the day is long, but what a sweetheart, he helped me with being able to buy my first house, he had me and wife over to his house and he and his partner showed us an incredible hospitable fun evening. When i leave and they close their doors that is there business not mine. This is another example of how witnesses have no express written concept of hate, but it exists in the environment of witnesses. Such a waste of energy hating decent innocent people who are clearly enjoying the life they have.

Elder school is just a FOG factory to churn out more Fear Obligation and Guilt to be unleashed on the congregation so everyone else will learn to hate their jobs, and life in this system and work harder for the wizards of Org.

Supposedly they were told to treat the flock with love, or else they would be accountable. That sounds like corporate talk for," No more lawsuits!"

"You can't fool Jeehoobie", said one of the speakers. I said, "Well, I agree, you can't fool Jeehoober. Just think about all the Elder and Ms child molesters, they were just pretending to be spiritual." No response...

I would love to hear a more in depth synopsis of this "school".

"What's So Great About The Elder's School?"

Without a doubt that is a question that a high percentage (85%) of elders asked themselves after attending....without a doubt!

The school is an opportunity for the hierarchy to sustain itself. It hammers home the fact that there are elders who are more equal than others, they are the men of power because they are used in the school. Now the GB have taken the opportunity to put themselves in front of their hit men and keep the power close to their vests. For most elders the best part about the school is telling other people that they attended it. It was exhausting to me, so much drivel.

This means obeying the GB without question.

My girlfriend and myself went to a yard party that a gay friend put on and they were the most hospitable people. They know you are not gay and don't push it.
