Theocrat, answer Valis' question. Why did the WTS join the UN? Look at the link, then we'll talk about your other points.

((((theocrat)))) I appreciate your attempt to help, if that is truly what you are doing. But read the link.

4- Another mark of true religion is that its members have a deep respect for the Bible. They accept it as the Word of God and believe what it says. They treat God's Word as being more important than human ideas or customs, as Jesus stressed that importance at Matthew 15:1-3, 7-9. They try to live by the Bible in their everyday life. So they do not preach one thing and then practice another.

To be a dub you can't determine for yourself what the bible is saying . You can only practice and believe things that the WTBTS ordains as being truth and as has been mentioned they reserve the right to change the meaning of things at any time and you are obligated to follow whatever conclusion they come up with no matter how stupid it sounds or you will be df'd . Let's take the blood doctrine for example . The bible is clearly not talking about blood transfusions yet to accept one is a df offense or to approve of one for your children who might die without one is cause for a church to bring charges of blood guilt against against the parents . Now you show me where is the love here .

Jesus made God's name, Jehovah, known to others.

No he didn't. Not ever. Even in the NWT, the only Bible "translation" which translates the Greek word kyrios (meaning "lord") as Jehovah, Jesus never uses any form of the divine name except when quoting the Old Testament.

Oh damn, this is too good not to bite!

Friend, the Lord's work is SERIOUS BUSINESS. Jesus wasted no time exposing the crooked religious leaders of his day or warning against the disease of apostasy that would creep into the Christian congregation. He ate with sinners that knew no better. But once properly evangelized, Christians were told to, "keep this same mental attitude" and to keep putting on the "new personality".

So tell me something... are you considered by your congregation to be a Jehover's Witness in "good standing"?

I consider myself a Christian (although my faith wavers in the wind at times) and I used to be as rigid in my thoughts as you well meaning (?) friend.

    Until:

It makes an interesting read and will give you another dimension to your faith.

If you have the truth, read it with an open mind and then return to the thread. What are you scared of? If you have the absolute truth within yourself, anything I place before you will fall.

    Scared?

Are you guys serious about the UN thing? You know it was BS! There was no wild beast of revalation harlot of babylon crap. They where blowing smoke. It is perfectly okay to be an ngo, if nobody said anything we would still be one, and i wish we would rejoin. How can the people that poke holes in 1914 think the beast is the UN?

Jesus did not start a religion. Jesus simply improved understanding of Judaism, and died as the messiah. MEN started religions, which is where all the problems begin. There is no "true" religion, as such, there is one Lord, one Faith, and one baptism into Christ - not a religion.

Rather, than not being a "true" religion, it is better to call the Watchtower the LIE !!!

Actually, until the early 1950's, the WTS taught that all religion was false, that the JWs were not even a religion.
