for once i want to hear a definite statement about your standpoint on the US bombing civilian targets deliberately in WWII, Vietnam etc. If you excuse those attacks than you have NO right to condemn the arab terrorists.
Because our current president DID something when we were attacked on 9/11 unlike past presidents who decided to take them to court! And things have improved -- security is better at airports and the FBI/CIA are more savvy and there is more intelligence sharing - and poeple are more security conscious.

Unfortunately it has been proven over the years that we Amricans tend to forget things over a period of time. They are waiting for us to forget so they can start all over again

Well, what can be done? Has the upgraded security measures had an impact other than Inconveniencing the average American? I read a lot of scrutiny about how things are so wrong in the world with all the terrorism from both sides and how much innocent deaths are caused by war, but no one has a solution except for just not killing each other, and you all know that isn't going to happen.
So my predictions for the future are more terrorism attacks, more bombings and killings of innocent people on both sides. More dieing in the name of whatever god or government seems to be popular at the time and more people talking about how bad it is and giving no other solution than people should all just get along and not kill each other, which is obviously easier said than done. I figure that the first day of peace on this earth will be the first day after the last human dies. Until then, things will go on just as they have since the first person couldn't get along with someone else and decided a stone to the head would be a good idea.

Do I look like a terrorist? Then why do I get the full security check almost every time I fly anywhere? I am a middle aged, white woman, wearing glasses, am not carrying anything but a small purse, so why am I singled out? A skycap told me last Fall that I was tagged for that kind of security, and I complained to him. He said once you are in the system for that kind of check, it's hard to get out.
I don't think the extra security checks should be random at all.................I think they should check every Muslim, or those who look like a Muslim.

Mulan, the mistake is thinking that all Muslims have a similar ethnic look to them. When visiting the local center, I was surprised at the number of people who looked like pale little me. Many people have converted to Islam from other cultures, going cross culture you might say. So it can't be said that just because someone is a little darker or ethnic looking that they are Muslim, and conversely they can't assume you look like white bread, that you aren't. Any way, what makes you a terrorist is not your religion, nationality, skin color, etc. Timothy McVeigh and the boys at Columbine are good examples of that.
