I was at the ATM the other day and a saw a little flash, right after I had entered the amount of money I needed and the machine went down. It kept my ATM card and didn't give me anything. I had to go in the bank the next day to get it back.
When my daughter was a little girl, my wife and her were getting out of the car in the driveway and lightning hit a tree about 30 feet from them and killed the tree, took out the phone line all the way to the road(no metal left in the wire, just rubber} burnt out my cook stove, TV, furnance fan and left a burnt strip down the out side wall. Part of my old oak tree went across the street. My daughter has been afraid of storms ever since.
I enjoy a summer storm, if it doesn't get too windy.

I LOVE thunder storms, its so energizing! The absolutely best lightning storms I have ever seen were in the desert in Arizona. Seems to be coming from everywhere at once. I can only remember one storm that really scared me, when I was young and living in Montana. There was a big storm with lots of lightning strikes everywhere all around, I thought Armeggedon was coming.
As for loving storms because you are christian??!! huh??!!
what is that about - sheesh..........

When I was living in the UK, I was at a convention in Manchester, North West England. On Saturday morning, the most INCREDIBLE thender/lightning extravaganza raged directly overhead the stadium. The flash was so bright it filled everything with white light, and the thunderclap was deafeningly instantaneous! Most of the conventioners seemed to be somewhat scared. I, on the other hand, thought it was spectacular and awe-inspiring!
Hey, I think I was at that one !! Was it Maine Road or Bolton? (they all merge into one composite nightmare now for me )
Our house got hit by lightning when I was little and it made a mess out of the telly (which we were watching at the time )
I've been caught out in it on open fields too and had to take shelter in a ditch (you don't want to be stood in an open field !)
It's always spectacular to watch.
I will pm you Simon
If you REALLY want to see lightning you must come to Florida.
I don't like lightning storms.......and tornado lightning storms even less..
I am of the HOLD ME NOW class..
i've been that disturbed jw waiting to see if this was gonna be the strike that took me out for being a thinner, for jeece sake....
sad and pitiful now i know.....anyway, when we first moved to our latest residence last year, there was a lightening strike right out of the blue around 50' away from me. No previous strikes and very little after - scare the living bejeezus out of me (now of the non-bejeezus class). Guess it was just a warning heh heh.
Now, we just went through windstorm that cut the power for 19hrs (dropped me outta chat dammit) - had to get a genset to make sure we didn't lose our meat....
boa.....who also thinks wild thunder and lightening storms are invigorating......(most of the time)
had to get a genset to make sure we didn't lose our meat....
Take your sick references to porn off of my thread this minute! I expect that sort of thing from Sassy, but not you!
