It was ME!!! I did it!!!!

  So there I was, entering the grocery store. I walked in at the doors and they have the racks of free newspapers,

  .....there they were, AWAKES, half a dozen or so. The man who had put them there was causually wandering around..........

  I walked over, grabbed an employment news and in turn picked up all the AWAKES that the man placed there. Having no briefcase I could see he had no more on him (It's raining today). I carefully folded them in half, put back the employment news and shoved those AWAKES in the garbage!

  He was going to come and say something to me about it but I turned and gave him my mean look, you know that Mum look that says don't you dare buddy! Then turned around and explained to my kids that if they ever saw those magazines in a public place they should do the same thing. VERY LOUDLY, then went on to tell them that the religion that put them out was a cult and that if ever anyone approached them about being a JW that they should tell them to go fly a kite and walk away, or come and get me!

  So yes, it was ME!

  Actually, he isn't allowed to leave magazines there without the manager's permission, which I doubt he had. Good job, getting them tossed. A JW I know slips them into the piles of free publications he drops off at businesses with the racks as part of his job. After he left, I pulled them out and pointed them out to the business owner. I guess he talked to the "brother's" supervisor because he doesn't do it any more. JWs think that if a person magically picks up a magazine they will be instantly converted; that is what the WTS tells them, people picking publications out of the trash even.

  I was in the barbers once and two local pioneers popped in saying to the owner "just leaving you the latest mags" as they dropped them on the table with the newspapers.

  "Thanks" he said with a smile and a wave.

  As they closed the door behind them he was walking past the table, picked them up and dropped them in the bin.

  I had to stop myself from laughing out loud.

  GOOD FOR YOU...you've inspired me to do the same next time. The last time I saw them in a Dr.'s office...I felt a little paralysed, knowing I did the same (leave mags) so many times. I didn't think to pick 'em up and 'file 13 'em'.

  Yes, I have seen them in beauty shops around my house. I will take them next time. Actually, some of the articles I still like to read. Not Awakes! though, I hated reading those.
