Men donned womens shoes to support the end of violence against women. Apparently, every 2 minutes a rape occurs somewhere in the world.

Did any of you ever hear of Date Rape Coasters?? The coasters are cards that can test whether a date rape drug has been mixed into a drink, merely by applying a sample of the alcohol on the card. If the spot on the card changes color, the drink may contain a drug.

75-85% of the victims know their attackers. 50$ of attacks occur in the victims home or during the day time.

One in 6 men will be a a victim of sexual assualt.

One man said, "I definitely give women a lot of credit for wearing high heels," said Grayson Kochi, a junior from De Anza College, who participated in the walk.

When I lived in Cali, some friends and I went to a club.......

To make a long story short; someone drugged my drink when I went to the ladies room.

Someone found me unconscious on the bathroom floor after I had finished my "tainted" drink...

The ambulance was called; I was told a day later, while I was in the hospital, that my breathing and my heart both STOPPED while I was being transported in the ambulance....

NEVER went to another club after that.........

    Thanks for posting that.

A friend of mine was assaulted in broad daylight walking down a street. We should be more aware of the dangers.

I don't let workmen into my house unless my partner is there. They might work for some "official" company, but there are no background checks for most of those jobs.

Rape is most women's worst nightmare and it makes me sick to think of people drugging drinks like that.

I think that this is one issue that JW women - particularly young women - are naive about. When JW I once went out for a drink with a JW girlfriend. She was SO naive (still is) and was letting guys grab her etc. When we got outside one of them tried to take her down an alley, and fortunately I had the strength of mind to pull her away and get us both out of there! A few weeks later we read in the paper that a girl had been raped down that same alley.

JWs are so oblivious to the outside world that they don't realise the truly horrific things that a person *might* do to them. They haven't grown up and dealt with real life.

Sorry, Maya. I don't know how, but I entirely missed your post (probably coz Six knocked me into a tizz, in that blasted doorway).
Anyhow, I wasn't trying to minimise your awful experience.
    (((hugs)))
