I'm in the UK and we haven't seen the Passion of the Christ yet.

    However, I just watched it.

Quite frankly I was astounded and moved. I cried and cried. What a moving film. The part where Mary sees her son fall when he is on his way to death....she suddenly sees him when he was a child and he fell when playing....and she sees how she ran to him and picked him up and told him "I am here". So she runs to Jesus and holds him saying "I am here". Well that was one of the most moving scenes I've seen in film.

I'm interested in everyone's reaction to this film. I know we've had other topics, but I couldn't find them on search.

That was a touching scene.I recalled my son's death and the helplessness of the moment. It actually numb me. I can not beleive any man (not even Jesus)could take that amount of scourgging without passing out. Other than that I recommend it highly

It actually reminded me of the fact that I have two uncles who lost their child. My uncle, a JW, lost his son in his 20s to a tragic accident probably related to drugs, My other uncle non JW lost his son because while he was in the army they crashed a car with about 3 soldiers in there and all died.

It hits home. I am so sorry for your personal loss. There is nothing to say.

    Love

    Sirona,

The movie really moved me also. I didn' t expect it to. I sobbed and I agree with you that the scene with Mary was the most moving. When I walked out of the theatre I felt kind of different, kind of small.

Sirona, I appreciate your kindness please accept my codolences. I was just trying to emphasize the helplessness of that scene Mary was going through.

I would have liked to have seen more scenes like those you mentioned and less of the whipping and beatings. I was sitting there, watching the movie thinking "yes, I know, he got the crapped beat out of him". I would have liked to have seen more about the man.

Given that they reduced the time to a 6:1 ratio (12 hours in 2) I think they did a pretty good job.

Setting aside the obviously emotional scenes with Mary (where I shed buckets), I found the most moving scene to be Pilate talking to his wife after the "What is truth?" scene. He just seemed so lost!!!

Actually, I hadn't thought about that before, but he did kinda remind me of you, Bradley

    Can you say "Pax Romanus"?

The end result of the movie was that I felt numb.
I sat throughout all the credits, and afterwards just stood in the lobby for a while, contemplating my navel.
