"Geologists say even though there is evidence of a flood in Mesopotamia in Sumerian times, it is not possible for a ship to make landfall at an altitude as high as Mount Ararat."
For the sake of argument, if Noah's Ark was real, there's still no reason for searching on Mount Ararat for it. The bible says that the Ark came to rest on "the mountains of Ararat", which encompasses a very large region. Plus, if the canopy that surrounded the earth before the Flood came crashing down, causing a very large part of the earth to now be covered with ice and snow, the it's very unlikely that the Ark would be that far up a frigging mountain where there's ice and snow even in July. Noah, his family and all the animals would have frozen their asses off. And it's not like he had any winter clothes or snow boots or generators to keep themselves warm for years and years.
If the story of Noah's Flood and the Ark is true, then I would assume that Noah would have used the timber as shelter seeing as the entire earth would have had no trees or anything on it that was salvagable. I've seen pictures of the region where some think the Ark still is and I can't seen anything that resembles a ship. It's just ice and snow and shadows.
