Let's see, first it was a phone call, now we're told it was discussed at the hall, and then it was in a letter. Spare me the nonsense. Gumby I was too hard on you considering what's coming down the pike now.

Porkchop,
So you actually believe that ALL these people are lying who varified the story? I'm surprised you were eble to escape dubdom because of doubting that all things were lies that you read or were told by others about the Organisation. Your even puzzled that these stories were heard from different locations! Good Lord....it's an experience that was told all over the place. Cannot a story be told in more places than one? What is your REAL problem Porkchop? I'd really like to know? Gumby

My real problem is that I get sick of this made up bullshit when there are real issues to talk about or reveal. This kind of garbage actually helps the Organization because it makes the real stuff less credible. If I never hear about planes in Alaska, or association with Masons, or RandCam, or the Organization owning the Kingdom Halls, or subliminal images, or whether or not your damn cat can eat a bird again, it will be too soon.

First of ol' bud....I don't believe the story was bullshit, however it would be a hard one to prove to real doubters. The story does sound far fetched I agree....but it was made with the intent to show some situations the organisation has put itself into in it's doctrinal lunacy.
I must agree with you, with all the things you mentioned below, that people use to denounce the Organisation for the most part.
If I never hear about planes in Alaska, or association with Masons, or RandCam, or the Organization owning the Kingdom Halls, or subliminal images
It must make witnesses smile to see some of the reasoning some ex-witnesses use to try to expose them. To be honest.....even the UN scandle was over-rated in my book as a means to prove the Organisation as hypocrits. They have "used(milked) the nations" in many similar ways, and applied it to theocratic warfare before. Had I been a dub and heard about the UN thing....I doubt it would have phased me.
True, there are more solid, concrete proofs to post about concerning the Organisation and what it truely is, but if a poster wishes to share some oddities of intrest to others who might find it intresting.....why piss on the fun? You look like a negative scrooge to everyone and you know it. Why be like that? At least explain your distaste in a nicer way so you can get some good feedback instead of pissing others off. Your a bright guy as I've read your stuff. Make yourself more useful and be a bit nicer.

Thanks for sharing, Gumby. I agree that these anecdotes serve a purpose.
This is not exactly the same issue, but my mother had a real crisis of conscience over whether or not it was scriptural to feed her dog processed food.
After all, dog food contains animal byproducts. This means it probably has blood in it! Shock! Horror! Anyway, she spent a lot of time researching, talking to the vet, finding a non-animal byproduct dog food. She prayed about it; she felt guilty. It caused her a lot of grief and stress, which is very bad for her health. But she tries to go by the WTBTS rules, and searches her conscience on every issue.
Now, some people may find this trivial. I, for one, do not. It serves the purpose of highlighting the insane amount of stress some of these poor folks are suffering due to the WTBTS policies, and the type of stranglehold it has on them!
Having heard and experienced many things like this since I was a child (40-some years), I have absolutely no trouble at all believing the veracity of Gumby's story. For example, we were looked down upon by some in the congo because we had a cat. Oh, they are a symbol of witchcraft, etc. Yes, things like this do happen. They cause a lot of stress and grief for a lot of the well-intentioned R&F, and they are well worth discussing on this forum. IMO

Even a fool knows that God gave Lions and other cats tremendous running speed because bales of straw are very quick and hard to catch. God also gave Lions and other cats powerful claws and fangs because it takes quite an effort to tear up and chomp into those same bales of straw.
God made the mouths of misquitos so that they could suck the pulp out of straw bales.
The fact that a cat would stray from his genetic make up and eat a bird, shows how inhumane his owner is in not providing enough straw for the poor animal. Lots of straw = no bird eating. Doh!
Even a fool knows that. The WTS is merely acknowledging the facts I just presented, which of course, are all Bible-based.
