Thank you Blondie for all your hard work!

This printing company is beating the drum again. They have these wonderful printing presses and lots of volunteers and all these distrubution points, Kingdom Halls, and they need the RF to push their printed material.

Cygnus what nit picking? If anything Blondie is guilty of stating the obvious! And what decent instruction? The WTS tells every JW to start Bible Studies....or do they? I promise you if you studied with a person for a year in any Bible and that person knew scripture backward and forward and you brought them to the Elders to get baptized the Elder would want to know WHAT WTS BOOK you studied out of? If you told them only a Bible, they would not let that person get baptized! The Bible is a prop and a tool to promote the WTS and only the WTS! Maverick

    Maverick,

    And what's wrong with that?

I remember clearly that Km97 question from reader. The night it was considered, I raised my hand and expressed my thoughts. I made the comment that covering one chapter a week so as to finish the book in 6 months was almost impossible with 99% of students. Did I ever get the evil eye from the elder and others in the audience. Now its back to taking your time and bring in other information and read more scripture.

I always felt like a yo-yo trying to follow their directions.

    Thanks a bunch Blondie

    blondie----

it may be helpful to observe how the Congregation Book Study overseer (conductor) handles the coverage of each week?s lesson (or maybe not knowing some conductors from my past).

ROTFLMAO--- I almost fell off my seat with that comment .

Let me see if I got this right here (so far only read up to paragraph 14.) The great crowd are now only mirrors for Gods organization and simply are there to reflect whatever comes out of a publishing corporation ? I don't know how they can continue to proclaim that it's spirituallity . I thought spirituallity meant living in accord with the christian teachings and keeping a constant communication with God thru prayer. They continue to stress obedience to the corporation in the guise of it being the FDS and consider that spirituallity ?

An elder and his wife once told me that a well-respected CO said that how you count time is a matter of conscience. A conscientious elder will find ways to count time. That's right -- 'count time'. It's all about keeping up appearances. This article seems to be suggesting that 'looking reverent' is not enough.

The organization has always been weak when it comes to appealing to people's hearts. Jesus motivated people because of the power of his words and his example. Jesus was perfect, but when did that ever stop imperfect people from wanting to imitate him or acknowledge his place in their life.

I knew elders that were zealous, but would critically speak about other elders finding convenient ways to 'count time'. Looking for any kingdom hall buildings in the region, so they can shirk their responsibilities at home, was a good excuse for low hours that month. These same zealous elders were the witch-hunters that went after elders that consistently demonstrated a lack of respect for the responsibility of being a 'publisher'. A CO would step in or the service dept at Bethel and hurt feelings would ensue. What the crap? It's just a useless mess.

Their delusion is how they view themselves. The only true religion because they are proclaiming God's kingdom. How many hours will it take to proclaim Jehovahs' kingdom? Only God knows.

    To Cygnus,

If you walk up to a well dressed, well groomed person, and closely examine their jacket with a magnifying glass until you find one flake of dandruff, then you are nit picking.

If you observe a dog scratching fleas with both hind paws, while it it bites at other fleas with his teeth, and say "That dog has fleas", that's not nit picking. That is just stating an obvious fact.

Blondie skillfully pointed out a lot of fleas on this dog, uh, WT article.

If people have an important, exciting, TRUTHFUL message, you don't have to prod them to talk about it.

No amount of prodding can make people teach a "ho-hum" message.

Since the F&DS are the one's originating the message, why blame the messengers.

Blondie, I enjoyed your WT summary very much, as always.

Jesus? skillful use of questions helped people to reason. (JWs don?t have to reason; all they have to do is look up in the publications to see what the WTS says they must do; or ask an elder).

You got me again with this one lol. Most of their reasoning is based on stuff that can't be proven . How the heck do you reason without having facts to back up what you are saying ? Most of what's going on is invisible , jesus said people would believe in faith alone . If people wanted to use reason they could easily find the WTBTS to be unreasonable .
