G'day Romingfeline,
I'm in Sydney at the moment but the lyrebirds are everywhere in the forests around Tathra. They are doing their mid-winter thing, building nests and warbling for companions. There's an expert bird caller who ddoes a spot on ABC radio who said the other day that the one bird the lyre bird can't successfully imitate is the kookaburra. He said they can only do the initial part of it's call. He was only part right, I have them around home that do the whole call but the last half is not at all convincing (I can do better myself ;)
Perhaps 'our' lyrebirds are exceptionally tallented
uncoolbruce, carrying on as per riz instuctions.
Uncle Coolman,
Prices sound very similar to the US...perhaps a tad higher here. Are you still able to purchase R-12...with all the inviro laws, if you have a vehicle over apprx 8yrs old, you have to pay close to $70.00 a pound here. All the newer vehicles are equiped with a more ozone friendly R134a system (less expensive) but will not work with the seals and fittings for R12.
Your braver man than I, to tackel the job. You may already have some condensor pressure guages, and meters...so go for it.
Glad everyone is well. Next time we talk, want a full report on the progress of the 'tea room' and the 'gold mine adventure tours'. I will gladly pay a fee. Someone told me it costs $40.00 to get into Disneyland now...UncleBrucie's World here we come.

(willing to buy shares class)
Danny - They ended the old R12 gas a couple of years ago (I wouldn't regas the unit myself, just change the compressor etc.. I think it's about $100Aus to regas) I didn't know the new gas didn't work with the old seals .. very interesting - first time I've heard that. (my mitsubishi zero .. um I mean pick-up .. is only 2 years old so runs on the new stuff)
Hey Danny, let's piss the women off by talking cars .. I might open a thread about V8's vs V6's cheers!

Pleasantries? I'm impressed. Wish it would rain in Oklahoma.
Oh,and by the way guys, big blocks are the choice of this pickup man.
Unc,
: it's perfect here in oz - as usual ... cool mornings warm days .. typical New South Wales winter (it's always fine here even when it's raining
Will you marry me? No, wait! That would make me a poofter. Would you let one of your sisters marry me? No, wait! They all fight! Er, would you let me visit you then, and not marry me and force me to work in your mine for room and board with Greater Sulphur Crested Cockatoos (and a few cheeky galahs for snacks and a walloby here and there) for food? If I play the piano for four hours, do I get a pet Kangaroo, or at a least a Platypus? (What do those suckers eat, anyway?) That's the least you could do, because after Armageddon I get my own pet lion, but knowing my luck, God wouldn't give me any straw rations and that poor sucker would have to eat my Walloby. Then God would kill him for messing around with the rules.
