think the WTS never intended to reinforce the teaching that the holy spirit is not a person. But I do think they are trying to reinfoce something. Rather than give my opinion, I invite you to tell me what you think it is. No right or wrong answer, this is not a test.

So Sorry Blondie !for posting a lie!!!! I was trained by the faithful & discreet slave ---But you my dear got the real light EH!!!!

Where did I get this from???? An EX Curcit servant called to tell me it was in May 15th but silly ole Mouthy got it wrong. & I disagree with you Blondie THEY ARE saying we can not have the HOLY SPIRIT.... Even if you cant read that in the mags. They still preach that.. I know your still IN with the knowledge of the witnesses ... But this ex curcit servant was quite adament about the teaching of the HOLY SPIRIT..... ONLY the 144.00 can have it....

Gumby Thank you darling!!!! I am way behind in the thread.... I guess I have slowed down somewhat.

Mouthy....I'm sitting here flicking through the May 1st 2004 Watchtower and there is no Questions from Readers in it. Nor any article about the Holy Spirit. Are you sure you got the dates right?

May the 1st Watchtower is entitled "Should the Clergy Preach Politics"

    In this article they said:

"If we are God's servants with an earhtly hope, we have not been anointed with holy spirit. Nevertheless, we can have just as much of God's spirit as those with the heavenly hope. Hence, we (obviously not an anointed brother writing this) could grive the spirt. But how?"

In another QFR the WTS gave a qualifying statement:

    w96 6/15 p. 31 Questions From Readers

Can we say that God?s servants today who have the earthly hope have as much of God?s spirit as do spirit-anointed Christians?

This question is not a new one. This same matter was addressed in "Questions From Readers" in The Watchtower of April 15, 1952. Many have become Witnesses since then, so we can consider the question and in the process review what that earlier material said.
Fundamentally, the answer is, yes, faithful brothers and sisters of the other sheep class can share equally with anointed ones in receiving God?s holy spirit.?John 10:16.

This, of course, does not mean that the spirit operates in the same way on all individuals.

Grace, so in the doublespeak of the WTS, the other sheep have as much of the holy spirit as the anointed but it operates on them in a different way.

That leaves room for the statement in the 5/15/04 QFR and the CO's statement. Perfect WTS doubletalk.

I think you are wrong. They are trying to say the anointer controls the holy spirit and the great crowd are controled by it.

The elders for example are not spirit appointed the anointed picks them and has the final say on who becomes and elder. The anointed suppossedly uses the HS to pick the worthy elders, and the elders are under their control which is given to them by the holy spirit. One you use the spirit the other the spirit uses you. Tricky eh?

Actually, I said the WTS tries to play it both ways to appease the nonanointed JWs.

I think the WTS is trying to ease the GC into accepting the nonanointed men in Bethel as having the same power as the anointed when the day comes that the GB are gone, dead.

Since they now prinit anyone can be anointed it would be halirious. Jws so indoctrinated with old light they let the org go extinct instead of passing the torch to more "just because I say I am" anointed.

Sounds like the usual doublespeak, Mouthy.

CeriseRose-If you really want magazines to read, check the waiting rooms at your local hospital. There's usually a set of magazines laying around there Or are they lying around there, lol.

Yep, I agree with both points.

Do you think that the Borg would win a "double speak world championship"?
