I stil believe that destruction is waiting for me since I leaved the orginisation,
I hope that will change soon. I don't think any of us believe that anymore.
I agree with some of the others that you are so fortunate to have learned the real truth at 23. I didn't know until I was 50, after being a JW since I was 4. That is a lot of wasted years.

Hi Shana, welcome to the board.
Please don't blame your parents for the way they behave towards you. They do love you, but they are just victims of WT lies too. They just haven't woken up like you have. As you have never been baptised (like me) they don't really have an excuse for shunning you, but I don't know how to convince them of that. Maybe someone else here has advice on that. My own parents have never shunned me, so I have been lucky.
I know you will find the support you need here, it is a great place to hang out, especially when you are feeling down.

I have blamed my parents during a long time, today, With more reflexion, i know that they are slave too.
Today, I have my own flat because life was impossible, they blamed and judged me they told that I will leade my little brothers and sister to destruction, so I prefered leaved home and it is better now, my parents and me are able to comunicate and they see that I am happy.

I've been where you are, and I understand how you feel. While I wasn't baptised either, my whole life was spent growing up as a witness. You'd think I was disfellowshipped the way my congregation crosses the street to avoid me...

On a side note: I was in Paris with my husband in May of 2001. We were just celebrating our three year anniversary of our backpacked europe trip.
Too bad I didn't know you then, you could have helped us avoid some of our amazingly naive american mistakes!
