Interesting you say camping because our family actually went camping twice at a District Convention that was in Philadelphia. While camping can be fun, trying to get your dress clothes on in a tent is not fun and I don't recomment it. Also, you would want to schedule your camping around the 5 meetings during the week, so our family would always end up going camping like Sun afternoon through like Tuesday. As I later found out, this is a crapy time to go to a State Park because all of the cool activities go on during the weekend, you know like Snake Hunting with Ranger Bob.

get drunk (in front of the right people, of course), have "gatherings" in small groups, dating at a rather young age so that you can get married, laugh at householders behind their backs because you know you'll be living in their house after Armageddon, play Watchtower trivia, legitimately gossip during elders meetings, be invisible pioneers, and gluttonously eat and never be df'd for it!

My wife tells me the women in our old congregation would gather at a park to let the kids play. There was always a large jug of cheap wine on hand. The most drinking was done by the elder's wives. I'm sure they needed it.

...I was "allowed" to have a bible masquerade party once. I was 17 and invited all the young people in the neighboring congregations. It was fun. My parents chaperoned.
....and it caused all kinds of problems when people started complaining that this sort of thing had its "roots" in pagan practices with "black masks" ( of which there were none at this party). And if there were--so what?
I was not allowed to have another.

Probably would have worked better if you hadn't had it on October 31...

Rollarskating was always big everywhere,if you were shy it allowed you to 'get in' with the crowd mix without feeling intrusive.I always loved the 'couple skate' intervals.Get to hold hands with your favorite, and again not feel intrusive or commited.

All this talk reminds me of the time I sold a brother my rare 1st edition kingdom melodies tape. This was me, the same brother who scoured book shops for the ultimate Watchtower library, a guy who also like classical music! But even I could do without such rubbish. Shame I put the money in the contribution box, I could have made a healthy profit!
