I ALWAYS buckle up man! It makes it harder for the aliens to suck you out of the car.

    Safety first!

because it appears that light speed is not constant.

Are you sure about this? I read that the experiment that appeared to speed up light was more of an "optical illusion." I'll have to see if I can find the reference.

Of course the speed of light will "slow down" when travelling through different media.

OH...MY....GOD. I never expected to see anything like that on here. This board is awesome.

So does this mean that light cannot travel faster than light, after all? Just wondering.

    LT:

Do you mean specifically "Young Earth Creationist"s and "Last Days"ers?

That pretty much covers it, I think (though we could throw in a whole bunch of TBNers, too)

    Amazing:

Einstein's theory presents a verifiable explanation of the physical universe that is inconsistent with the deterministic/apocalyptic sociological goal of every religion.

I am not sure how any of Einstein's theories would do this. Maybe you could explain.

I'm reviewing Einstein's remarks in Physics and Reality, and Emile Meyerson's Identity and Reality. Ernst Mach is also a good source (which I don't have to hand).

I'll post a couple of quotes asap.

    ...

As for the speed of light and the gravitational "constant": There is evidence that neither of these are constants, and, also, credible (meaning neither proved nor disproved) theoretical foundations to see why neither of these "constants" (nor any of the other so-called universal constants), should in fact be constant.

And is gravity a wave or a particle? I am very confident that the speed is of gravitons/gravity/whatever is n and that c <= n <= infinite/instantaneous.
