Fluff: What your topic to post ratio says about YOU

    Hi everyone,

I spent vast amounts of time (10 minutes to be exact) assessing what exactly posting ratios say about a person.

Work out your forum ratio this way: Click on your profile and click on "post history". This will bring up a list of pages showing all your posts. Note the number of pages of posts you've made. Then go back to your profile and click on "topic history" this will show you how many topics you have started. Note the number of pages of topics you've started.

For instance, I've made 104 pages worth of posts, and I've started 8 pages worth of topics. Divide the first number by the second (104 / 8). The number you get is your forum ratio number (according to Sirona's scientific method...LOL) Mine is 13.

    Read and weep:

You love starting threads! Perhaps you want your daily or nightly rant and this is the perfect place to do it. You are talkative and outgoing and you love the sound of your own voice (possibly after a few drinkypoos). However, you have been known to post some seriously interesting stuff that everyone appreciates. Keep it up, but try to comment on a few more of other people?s threads (after all, they comment on yours!) The people who get on your nerves are the ones who critisise fluff, because lets face it, you are the fluff master.

You are a fairly balanced contributor to the forum. You start threads and you also participate in everyone else?s discussions, after all, we?ve all got something to contribute, right? You probably know everyone quite well and you are well loved.

The people who irritate you are those who just joined the forum yesterday and they act as though they know everyone and everything. I mean, how dare they? -You have worked to gain this status and so must they!

You browse a lot and contribute to the forum where you can. You participate more in other people?s discussions than starting threads. The threads you start are on-topic and / or very relevant to your life. The thing is, you care about the other people here, not just yourself, so you spend more time talking with them than thinking up new topics. This shows that you are a lovely person at heart. Whilst you like the fun part of the forum, you don?t like forum contributors who cause trouble by posting baited topics. Down with the trolls!

You are a two sided coin. You might be the angelic type who is so selfless that they only care to post on other topics to encourage and help everyone else. On the other hand, you might just be one of those people who is a bit self-righteous. Perhaps you look for threads in which you can shoot people down with your infallible arguments? Whichever of these categories you fall into, you don?t seek glory in the forum and you are likely to be a true giver. Attention seekers really get your goat. Ever thought of starting a topic or two?

Edited to say: OR maybe you are just really, really shy.... LOL (see thread below...)

Aha! I was wondering if you would put up a rating system! I looked up some sample posters with varying personalities, to see where they sat:

    Blondie, 472/16, she is a 30.
    Farkel, 306/11, he is a 28.
Minimus, bless his soul, may be the most balanced of my sample, 47/502, or a ratio of 11. I had to do the math twice, just to be sure.
    JCanon, 52/9, a ratio of 6.
    Brownboy, 5/1, a ratio of 5.

    Me, 164/5 I come out at 32.

    Very accurate Sirona.

I used to start many topics before, but now I ran out of ideas. The holy spirit isn't shining on me anymore. So, my 6.5 coefficient will go up and up.

I get 14 but I do have to make more announcement type topics so I'm going to make an adjustment and declare myself ... erm, which was the best one again? Something to do with 'balanced and thoughtful'
