to all of you who responded with heartfelt condolences when my father passed away in March. I printed out all of the posts and the personal messages and gave them to my mom who is not computer oriented. She really appreciated them. It's been really rough trying to get back to "normal" but it's slowly happening. My dad and mom were 51 year members...walking away a couple of years ago and DA'ing themselves. My little 4'9", slightly hunched-over mom is now shunned by all of them. I'm thinking of putting her picture on a billboard near the KH with the caption, "WHY ARE 6 MILLION PEOPLE TERRIEFIED OF THIS WOMAN?" Anyway, Thanks again and I vow to continue to fight the good fight against the WTBS.

That would certainly be a thought-provoking billboard.

Terrible the way they have treated your mother but sadly it's repeated many times.

Sassy,Nikita, nilfun & Simon..Thanks! This board more than compensates for the lack of love shown by the witless group. The hardest thing for my mom is my daughters treatment of her (her only granddaughter). She's hardcore and while she did attend my fathers rememberence gathering, she only spent 45 minutes, was stand-offish and her good little hubby who is trying to climb the dubbie ladder did not come at all. Since then my mom and I have noticed that she will occassionally return calls or emails and agree to drop by...ONLY if my mom has some piddly little work for her...dusting, washing dishes etc. The dubbie party line is apparently...You can help your grandmother with little chores but you cannot just go by to visit or fellowship. She lives approx 3 miles away and has stopped by her grandma's once since her grandfathers passing two months ago. She is the reason I will not rest until she's out.

I think thats a GREAT idea!

But what an absolute disgrace that they can shun her at the time she needs her freinds the most! 51 years, what a heartbreak this has been for her and all of you. :(

Thanks for the update, I often wondered how you were getting on, my ma has still not heard a thing from her jw family, they sent no cards and have made no visits to console since my dad died on Nov 9th. He was a good man to them but they didnt give a hoot for him or for her. I feel for ya.

Thanks maybesbabies and Brummie....isn't it amazing that a group of old men can hold so much power over so many, and in the name of "love". What's even scarier, to me, is the fact that I too at one time thought these people/org held the keys to the "truth" about everything. Everyday I kick myself but as someone else pointed out, it usually takes something real personal to slam us with the real truth. In my case it was my divorce.

PS. Tell your mom Brummie that we are thinking of her and give her our love.
