Going home

Do you still live in the same place that you grew up? If not, do you ever miss it?

Lately I've found myself missing Midland, TX where I grew up. I still consider it home even though it has been several years since I've been there. I have nothing there for me since I was a JW while I was there but still my memories of it are fond. I find myself wanting to go back, to see what has changed and to visit places I loved as a teenager. Sadly I know all of my memories are tied to the JW's and that if I go back to visit it may just hurt.

I don't think I could ever go home now.. I too have too many JW ties there and my home town is a small one. Even the nearby town I lived in for a time, I just plain know too many JWs.. in the circuit really.. it wouldn't be easy to go home to live..

I will go home for Christmas to my dads or sisters..

and.. perhaps an apostafest if one comes up.. but that is the extent of it

I was born and raised in Corpus Christi Texas. I do miss that place alot sometimes.

My hubby doesnt want to visit because of the history there.

I love Houston alot, I would rather live here, I just get home sick sometimes.

I remember where I used to get Ice Cream, the hospital I was born at, where my mom used to take me to get clothes, my schools. I havent been there in 2 almost 3 years.

I miss the smell of my grannys clean house, the sound of the palm trees, the full moon reflecting on the water at the beach. The smell of sea water. The Lexingtion.....

Have you ever gone back home?

As soon as the Apostofest is over in Dallas,I'm going back to where I came from before moving to Calif.(where I was originally born) to Arizona. I moved there when I was 18 and lived there for 16 years.

My family( Mom and sisters) is about an hour above there which is where I will stay, but I'm also going to my hometown for a day or two and seeing a couple of "wordly" friends I knew when I worked for Safeway there. It's a small town and I'm tempted to drop in on some dub friends to say hi and see what happens. I have a feeling they would give me a hug and talk. I hope I bump into others while I'm there going to various stores where it's easy to see someone you know. I miss those friends as we were all very close.
