I had commented on a similar thread that when I was a gung-ho dub 25 years ago I was going to name my soon to be first born Ebed-malech! The elders stopped me...one of the only good things they may have done.

We had a couple in my old congregation who named their kid Nebu....Nebuchadn.......That king from the book of Daniel.

Then, they had another offspring, and they named the kid Abendnigo. Those poor kids. Never stood a chance in School.

A little of topic-Sorry, but the Social Security Death Records have been a great resource for me. Being disowned by my parents, and not having communication with them for years, all I have to do is type in my last name-Ronto-yes I know weird last name, but....Anyways, I was able to find out that my Father died several years ago, and have been able to find out that way those that have died in my family, since I get no calls from my family in the org. letting me know when someone has died. By the way-no Jehovah's in my family-Awww Shucks!!!

Well, I did have a roommate whose boyfriend flew in from Lebanon and his name was "God". Who knows what it means in Arabic. ;) And her name was Khedija, the name of Muhammad's favored wife.

Well Jehovah's mommy and daddy had originally decided on Valis, but they both had an aversion to nipple rings.

On my first name - Branda - I had 5 entries in the first (immigration) box, a few more in the next 2 and a few thousand in the historical one. On my last name there were 0 entries.

Coul'nt search for free: I don't have a creditcard and that is something very important in this case.

CHEVYSNTATS, nearly all of my family were named after living members of our family. I am named after my father and my mother. So did my oldest brother + the name from one of my mothers brothers, the second brother is named after 2 other brothers (from my mother), the third is named after my mother and another of her brothers, the 4rth is not be re-named and my sister is named after my mother and a sister of my fathe3r.

In none of these cases there where unpleasant events. Today all the namegivers has died - but all after a very long time. But then it is common use here to give names of living relatives - so "the angel of death" is probably used to it.

There are 27,164 with the first name Jesus; 235 have the surname Jesus. And we are asked to believe that the name Jehovah is more important than the name Jesus!
