SixOfNine: Why don't you just do the research for yourself?

    Hi.

Can I ask why you need to be so hostile and rude - or maybe it just came across as such? I'm not here to try and get you to believe in God or anything. In fact, I'm here for purely selfish reasons - for ME - to find out if I'm in the right place. I then will bring any doubts to people I have a study with, when I arrange one, and they can try and explain some of the damning (sp) things I've been hearing this week about the org.

Isn't the URL a bit misleading? Shouldn't it be called "EX-JW's" or something, so that people are forewarned that you people are former JWs, anti-JWs even? Shouldn't there be some kind of notice on the homepage that whoever is looking to learn about the religion has come to the wrong site?

Also, what is that DONATE icon for? Who is it exactly that needs sponsoring, if you are all EX-Jehovahs Witnesses?

Thanks in advance for your replies. I'm going through a lot of anti-JW stuff online. It's quite funny. Some just blatantly hate JWs, others say its doctrines are false, but then also say: Islam could be truer than Christianity, because there is no trinity as God couldn't pray to himself. In effect, they prove JW doctrines whilst questioning them. I thank you once again for not getting offended at my post.

    Ok I will play.

Its nice to have new ones, even if you still believe in JWs. There are some lovely people here who still go to the meetings. I think you just came off a little annoyed with your first post.

Hi aelena. What do you mean by "PUBLIC [REPROOF]"? Do you still believe in Jehovah/God? In the trinity? In Armageddon (whenever it may be)?

There is. It says "everyone welcome!" This would instantly tell an active JW that it's not the kind of place they should be visiting.

    Welcome to the board.

I too share your concerns. With the vast amounts of non-JWs it is really hard to find the right woman to marry. Thats why im on this board. There are hundreds of beautifull and innocent JW's on this site just waiting for guys like us to marry. I am currently in a deep relationship with CHEVYNTATS. She is a wonderfull woman and I know that you too can find that innocent loving Virgin that you so desire on this board. Peace to you my brother.

Theoretically public reproof means the Elders think you did something wrong and need to tell everyone that you did something wrong. So they announce you as 'marked' and 'bad association'. The something wasn't bad enough to get Disfellowshipped yet.

In reality, its a lesser form of punishment instilled by the church. A blemish on your permanant record (they do keep records on you, called a publisher card).
