Hi Gang, I am trying to decide whether or not to just lay around the pool on friday morning and afternoon or do a walking tour of the downtown. I believe if we hung around the hotel on friday we could be there to meet and greet those arriving. We could always tour downtown Dallas on saturday, however I heard that several of you are planning on saturday to be the pool day. Give me some suggestions. Also for those who are going to Billy Bob's would you like to meet up for dinner in the stockyards before going to BB? and which restaurants would you suggest? One more thing, if any of you can play the guitar, please bring it along or any other musical instrument. Well you-all this will probably be my last post before we leave thursday for Texas. I wont be back here at the mall to post until monday or tuesday until we get back, feel free to post here as I can read this site from my home browser.

Hmmm...you might wanna take the family walking downtown...you can visit the museums on Ross...and don't forget to visit the big black Trammel Crowe building on Ross as well. It has sculptures all the way around AND, at the bottom and the rear side an awesome (and free) Asian collection. Including a facade from a building rescued from Afghan Taliban destruction.. there is also the World Aquarium in the West End about 6-8 blocks away. As well, you could take the Westmoreland train to the Zoo. Not a long ride and well worth the visit.

My wife and I will most likely meet everyone at BB's. Looking at the website, I saw there is a concert that night. http://www.billybobstexas.com/concerts.htm

I've never been to BB's and was curious if there is a seperate dance floor from where the concert is held. I saw that you can clip a cupon on the website for the concert if it is the same room. Can someone enlighten me???

    Thanks,

    Bryan

Dealey Plaza. Take the JFK tour, stand on the sidewalk by the causeway, check out the grassy knoll. History comes alive, and it's a spooky feeling....

Hey do you want to make a call on my brother who lives just north of Dallas and try to convert him away from the JW's?

Nah stick to Dealy Plaza. Important history there well worth seeing.

Bryan, yes, the dance floor and regular bar area are seperate from the reserved concert seating, and concerts are played on a seperate stage. You can see (kind of) and hear the concert from the rest of the bar, and there'll be no other music during the show. By the way, I notice that the concert that night is a cajun/zydeco artist - nothing wrong with that, but just don't expect top 40 country all night. The house band will be on before and after the show, though, and they're usually good, playing all kinds of country and prob'ly a little classic rock.Wish I could be there, it'll be a good time, but hopefully I'll see you all Saturday evening anyway.

Cajun music huh Cowboy? I am not the biggest fan of cajun music but since I like all kinds of music I can appreciate it...... This weekend in Shreveport, Louisiana .... is the annual Mudbug Madness Festival....lots of mudbugs( boiled crawfish), all kinds of live bands, beer , smoked turkey legs, all other kinds of food, arts, crafts and kiddie rides on down on the River Front. So maybe the Texas folks are keeping in tune with their Louisiana sister state huh?

    Me too, Lyin.

Junction Guy, I haven't tried 'em all, but I can recommend Risky's BBQ and Risky's Steakhouse. Both are excellent, and real close to Billy Bob's....

Eh I know the Risky's. Spent many hours in thier restuarant when they had one here in the West End...*LOL* I actually got kicked out of there for a while. I pissed off the FBI agents that frequently got drunk there...I seem to recall having one of Buck Revell's agents calling me "a piece of sh*t"..*LOL* Bwahahahah
