What Happened to Romans 3:34?

I was reading a "Bible teaching sheet" printed of the CBN website this morning. I went to look up a scripture they refered to, Romans 3:34 in my Father's Black J.W. Bible, and it was not there. Roman's 3 stopped before #34, not 34 verses to it!

Have things been ommmitted from the J.W. Bible vs. the King James Version?

Yes, it's an Illuminati conspiracy: that verse clearly reveals who killed Kennedy.

Check the citation - it may be a typo - what is it supposed to say?

According to the NW translation, The Emphatic Diaglot and New English Bible, there are 31 verses in Romans chapter 3.

Thanks Undaunted Danny for that link. It is now in my Favourites

I snuck into bethel and used WhiteOut to remove that verse from all of their bibles!!!

Since no one's mentioned checking the KJV yet... there is not Ro 3:34 there, either.

The NWT is based on a different textual family than the KJV, so from time to time you'll see verses left out that you'd find in the KJV. However, in this case, it would seem that this is just a typo; there is no verse 34.

    Dollie,

There are some verses that are omitted in some bibles. Some of them appear in the King James Version, but not in the NIV versoin or Tyndale version, along with the NWT as you saw. The reason is bible scholars question the authenticity of some of those verses as not being in the orginal manuscripts. Some bibles put them in but italizies them.

If you have a NIV bible and look at the bottom of the pages in the footnotes it will show you some of the places that things have been omited or things that are found in early manuscripts.

For instance... Matthew 21:44. It is in my NIV version, but the footnotes tell me that some ancient manuscripts do not have verse 44 in them.

The NWT has no footnotes what so ever!! They don't acknowledge any variations from their version at all. Where they did add things to uphold their interuptatiaon you will see it italizised. For instance at Colossians 1:16 they added the word "other" in brackets to prove that Jesus was created first. They put the other in brackets to show they added that word. NO other versions have the word other.

    Hope this helps.

So the question then is, 'what is true scripture?' If 'all scripture is inspired' that is. IMO the entire bible is not true scripture/the word of God, ie: Proverbs 31:1-7. Or perhaps the question is, 'inspired in what sense, to what degree?'

    Good points Flash,

Inspired by God does not mean written and comiled by God, now does it. The question as i see it is one of authority. Who says the Bible is inspired and what exactly is the Bible? As many know the bible was canonized by the Catholic Church AFTER the WT claims the Church became apostate. This is the inspired scripture or it is not, there can be no other possibilities. If it is than any changes to it are a corruption. If it is not, than what is? Who has the authority to declare scripture inspired? The king of England? A Catholic Monk? A Baptist Minister? Me or You? Can I cut and paste together a book and say this is it, this is the Bible lads?
