*LOL* Actually why don't we do the sensible thing and blame the Canadians? I mean what are they gonna do about it anyway? *LOL*
Hey, at least you guys aren't reciprocating and I certainly hope there are no plans to start by July!

Try it! We'll stop exporting our beer to the US. Then you'll be stuck drinking beer that gives headaches but no buzz.

OK whoa there Walter! I take it back I take it back!

Erm ... Gadget, you do know you went to Canada ... right?
Yep, I went to Canada but also crossed the border into New York State.

I thought (hoped) that was the case
You know there is no greater insult to Candians than calling them American
Last time I was in London the immigration "official" was a total dick.
This is not unique to the USA. Government workers work for their government because they can't get civilian jobs. There is a reason why this is the case. Sorry if my view is not PC - tough schiznit!!
Please, let's not malign all government workers. I have been a government worker most of my life and have always dealt kindly with the public, even when they were being rude.
Jobs that require a great deal of contact with the public are a challenege to any employee to maintain a sunny outlook.
I can remember those days of phone monitoring and classes in "tone and manner" because the stress degraded kindliness.

Um, Simon- you really ought to tell them to move their country out of North America then.
I experienced nothing but politeness when I flew into the USA, I found England airport a lot ruder (I got searched twice for no apparent reason). New York was pretty rushed and pushy but I guess thats due to the speed everyone moves at.
