Just got back on this thread. In response to you asking xjw_b12 whether it was Vancouver Island that we went clamming the answer is Yes. It was in the area of Parksville, what a beautiful place. And we also took the drive to Tofino that was a great time. But travelling that god forsaken road in a motor home was something to be desired.
White knuckle driving but nothing a good stiff drink wouldn't fix though.
