Great Story. Welcome to the forum. I've always hated not being able to say bless you to others. What am I supposed to do, just stand there looking stupified at them? I'm happy for your child. It sounds like she is very happy now too. My mother told me recently in an email that there's no way I can be happy without Jehovah in my life. But the great thing is, I'm the happiest I've ever been. Best wishes for you and your daughter.

Birthdays are such a big thing for little kids - we're so glad that ours can 'join in' with everything and be normal.

My daughter replied. " My mummy isnt a witness anymore, and I dont want to be one either! So we can celebrate birthdays now!!!"

I wish I would have been as smart as her, esp. at that age.
Hey kid, you're the best. Keep up the good work.

    ROFLMAO!!!!!

Don't kids make choices seem so amazingly simple!!! 'witness - not witness... No birthday, xmas, easter etc... - PARTYTIME!!!'

You've got a special, fearless little one there!! God how I wish I could have said that as a kid!!

If you ever find yourself in a fix, just PM me and I'll help if I can - I'm in Notts too!

Take care, and thanks for this story - it's made my day!!

A lovely story Choks. It sounds like your daughter is in for a normal childhood.

I just hope your Mum's love for her progeny is greater than her love for her cult and that she comes to terms with your new life quickly.

Matthew 19 14 But He said, Leave the children alone! Allow the little ones to come to Me, and do not forbid or restrain or hinder them, for of such [as these] is the kingdom of heaven composed.

    Matthew 18:3
And said, Truly I say to you, unless you repent (change, turn about) and become like little children [trusting, lowly, loving, forgiving], you can never enter the kingdom of heaven [at all]. Children are unpretentious they don't put on airs.Psychologist say children up to the age of 4 don't have what they call 'theory of mind'.Meaning they lack the concept of scheming and conniving.Which they develop as they mature.Children are straight forward and shoot from the hip, Birthday Balloons

Meetings meant beatings!!???? that's freaking hilarious, but so true. My mom used to take a willow switch from the tree outside the hall into the meetings with her. And there was a guy in our cong who used to take his kid outside, beat the crap out of him, then come in buckling up his belt, like he was proud to show that he could wail on his 8 year old. We did have quite a bit of fun at his expense, though.

It does make it hard when you rely on your parents for support. Even though it will be hard, once you stand on your own and make it, then they can't keep waving the 'you'll never make it w/o Jehovah'. Although, you can always say "Well, I haven't left God and his son, Jesus Christ, only that controlling, hypocritical, self-righteous group that distorts his teachings and his Bible"....that will make them REAL happy.....
