What was the Watchtower's view on the Dodo bird, the Wooly Mammoth, and other extinct animals? Were they going to be resurrected, or did the WT think that extinct animals were a myth?

They all died during the flood, along with the Unicorns and the Humpty backed camels and some chimpanzees
The Dodo bird is vehemently denied as ever exisiting due to the similarities bewtween it and J.F Rutherford.
It's a good question Nos...I'd need to dig a little in the cd-rom...I believe the idea is animals will not be brought back...except for T-rex cuz he's so cool!

LOL Shotgun! Yeah, Rutherford was a dodo. Also, didn't the Irish Rovers write a couple of Kingdom Melodies? Maybe I'm thinking of someone else, since the Irish Rovers would have been disfellowshipped for the song "Wasn't That a Party".
You'd think that the WT would use extinct animals as part of the "carrot", so people could see a T-rex in the new system! Speaking of T-Rex, I wonder if Marc Bolan will be resurrected? He was into wizards and stuff (much like Russell). Maybe Marc Bolan was one of the anointed!

To my knowledge, they didn't say that God would bring back extinct species by re-creating a new pair of dodos, etc.

They really never addressed the question, but every once in awhile dismissed it with something like, "Jehovah had his purposes, and when he decided that the animals were no longer necessary, they became extinct." A real bright position, no?

AlanF, that's almost like saying somebody got murdered because Jehovah didn't have a use for them anymore. But nooooooooo, that's different, that's Satan's system of things.

In all fairness, it must be said that the teachings -- or speculations-- of JWs in regard to this subject are virtually indistinguishable from those of any young-earth creationist movement.

The
Ultimate Protection of BiodiversityUnderstandably, the Creator of life in its staggering variety is keenly interested in the future of his creation. The Bible tells us that God will soon take action by ?bringing to ruin those ruining the earth.??Revelation 11:18.
Will God bring back life-forms that have become extinct because of man?s ruining the earth? If the Creator wishes to have extinct animal species reappear on the earth, he can certainly recreate them in the future. The same would apply to the extinct vegetation. But since the Bible does not tell us, it would not be wise to speculate on the matter.
What God?s rule does guarantee is a blessing for every living thing on earth. "Let the earth be glad," says the psalmist. "Let the sea resound, and all that is in it; let the fields be jubilant, and everything in them. Then all the trees of the forest will sing for joy."?Psalm 96:11, 12, New International Version

So pretty much, they're saying "You're thinking too hard." When somebody says that, it usually means that they don't have a fucking clue and you found a flaw in their reasoning.
