Excellent commentary. Remember what it was like being a Witness? Never express a doubt, you might stumble someone. Use tact (in other words lie). I remember when I first left. I was so programmed that I used "tact" so as not to offend anyone. I have been out so long now that I have become an old, crusty, worldly person, and you know what, I like it better. I like head on conversations, where I know what the other person really thinks. I don't like evasive politness, where I can not determine the other person's agenda.
I would rather err on the side of being too direct and apologizing later, than being evasive and not knowing what I or the other person really means. At any rate, Joel, I see this whole experience here on the board, as rough and tumble as it might be, to be a real opportunity for personal growth.
