Is it OK for a senators wife to be supporting terror?

I would assume that merely because the Heinz foundation provided some funding to this organization does not mean that it exercises editorial control.

I would also assume that this is one grant that the Heinz foundation will not be renewing.

Sometimes you take a chance on people, and those people let you down.

This is supposed to be a non-biased, neutral news source???

Anyone can go out on the net and find some "news source" to support an anti-Dem or anti-Repub position.

This article reeks of bias......................... just propaganda in my opinion....

I'm certain you could find similar 'connections' going the other direction where after 1 or 2 degrees of separation, Republicans are found to have some association with purported sinister activities.

In case anyone wants to read the original article for themselves, it's at http://www.womensenews.org/article.cfm/dyn/aid/1527/context/archive

I think it's an exaggeration to call the article a "screed". It's written in the conventional, objective tone of journalism. However, it is extremely biased: it pretty much uncritically presents the point of view of Hezbollah supporters, without quoting any critics or pointing out that Hezbollah's "martyrs" have killed many civilians.

Bisous, the original article came from a liberal feminist website!!!!! Not a conservative one. One Kerry's wife supports and funds.

Before all the conservative, republican bashing goes on, I'm more of a left leaning libertarian than anything else. Kerry's wife supports more than one extremist org. who's agenda is to bring down the US as it stands today.

I like Kerry, and i think his gesture to have Mccain as a vice pres. in a bipartisan effort was amazing. His wife scares the shit out of me. I liked Gore. Tipper, also scared the hell outta me. Not nearly as much as Teresa heinz-kerry, though. At least with Tipper's Big mouth, you knew where she stood.

    avishai,

oh come on this is more than silly.

do you suggest that the Fund for the City of New York, the Teresa and H. John Heinz III fund of the Heinz Family Foundations, the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, the Barbara Lee Family Foundation, the Rockefeller Family Fund, The Helena Rubinstein Foundation, the Sister Fund and the Starry Night Fund are all supporters of hizbollah? half of these supporters are jewish! Kerry himself is half jewish.

Newsmax.com is not a feminist nor liberal website. The positioning of the reporting is slanted.

The way I am interpreting this (I'm certain you will correct me if I am wrong) is that several organizations, which included one Kerry's wife is associated with, donated funds toward the establishment of a website. To quote your source:

"Women's eNews is supported by our readers; reprints and licensing fees; and the Fund for the City of New York, the Teresa and H. John Heinz III fund of the Heinz Family Foundations, the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, the Barbara Lee Family Foundation, the Rockefeller Family Fund, The Helena Rubinstein Foundation, the Sister Fund, the Starry Night Fund."

Your "unbiased source" in the very next paragraph condenses this to:

The Heinz Kerry-funded report reads like a recruiting brochure for suicide bombers. Here are some highlights

This is a ploy to create a certain perception.

So, a news article published on a website partially supported by The Heinz Fund is then posted by you as "John Kerry's wife supports terrorism!"

Well, I agree with Euphemism and others here, a grant to establish a website that then, due to free press, publishes one or a series of articles does not create a direct line of control. I'm doubtful the funding will continue on a go-forward basis. I'm even more doubtful that Mrs. Kerry provided approval somehow for the article. The Fund supports Women's eNews.

I'm not bashing anyone ... I fail to see any bashing speech in either of my posts, unless it is my use of the word bias. I made the point that either side of the fence could take a situation and twist it to their advantage ... thus feeding the desire of their particular audience.

Maria Teresa Thierstein Simoes-Ferreira Heinz Kerry. Is she jewish?

She is an original member and co-chair of the 'Congressional Wives for Soviet Jewry' and received more than a dozen awards from the Jewish community, including the 'Israel Service Award' and the 'Community Service Human Rights Award' from the American Jewish Committee. She donated millions of dollars to help bring tens of thousands of Jews to the United States from the former Soviet Union. She also lobbied for them to receive previously unheard of financial support, such as cash payments, medical and dental care, housing subsidies, and food stamps.
