TOH,
Please tell me that is not a true story.
Please.
My Haszard clan [recruited 1951] back then the WT$ exercised dominion over EVERYTHING.My dad was an elder and ex-special pioneer.
We had cats and chickens (hen house) because these critters could be set up to go 4 days( duration of district conventions back then)
Set up with water, grain.feed and litter boxes. We were NOT ALLOWED to have a dog, because they have more daily 'human needs'.
I s**t you not. It's scary now to think back how much control the WT$ had over my family.Nathan Knorr ruled the roost.
My dad sez:"puppies don't give everlasting life"
The Watchtower's leaders really twisted OCD over,"pussy".. http://dbhome.dk/carlo/cat.htm Watchtower's pet elephant: There's an elephant in the room.
It is large and squatting, so it is hard to get around it. Yet we squeeze by with "How are you?" and "I'm fine? And a thousand other forms of trivial chatter. We talk about the weather. We talk about work. We talk about everything else? Except the elephant in the room.
We all know it is there.
We are thinking about the elephant as we talk together. It is constantly on our minds. For, you see, it is a very big elephant. It has hurt us all. But we do not talk about the elephant in the room. Oh, please, say the word. Oh, Oh, please,... let's talk about the elephant in the room. For if we talk about death, Perhaps we can talk about life.
Can I say " 1914 IS A LIE " to you and not have you look away: For if I cannot, then you are leaving me alone? in a room? with an elephant.
yes, TOH, please tell me if this is some JW urban legend. I have read a lot of sad stories, but true or not this one is so majorly pathetic I can hardly bear it.

One must choose one's pets accordingly. Smaller pets like crabs (flatlus) allow unlimited meeting attendance.

my dog is better behaved than my children....does what she is told ( verbal instruction) and NEVER talks back.
The children, well, they are another story.
How can anyone question or criticize the joy a pet dog or cat can bring into the life of a child?
It is - we know some friends of the old man, and they told us, and were very upset.
No legend, I am sorry - friends of the old man told it to us, and many in the circuit were very upset ...........
My dogs frequenly do NOT do what they are told, and one of them DOES talk back! And instructs the children; when driving, and the children start complaining or making too much noice, she barks at them in a way she only uses in those circumstances, and clearly tells them to shut up! And if I lift a finger at her because of something she has done, she barks at me as a clear reaction to the finger. So she is about at the same level as are the children, I would say.
