In balance, it may be good.

First, it puts more public pressure on the Watchtower leadership because of their anti-social and anti-government activities.

It's good to see that some people see thru this "but we pay our taxes" routine.

They claim that they will go whining to the Europeans about human rights! What will they say? Keep in mind that

the Watchtower has already lied to these European leaders about blood transfusions in particular!

Second, it puts pressure on their WALLETS! Will they compromise to preserve $ and property? Let's see!

Finally, don't fall for the 'martyrdom' ploy. Yes, they may get some mileage out of the 'poor persecuted Witnesses'

routine - but neither the Russians nor the Europeans are likely to give these scofflaws and tax cheats ( when did they

ever pay their disputed taxes to France?) much sympathy - and yes, persecution and lack of official recognition

DO REDUCE growth in the organization. Examine the Yearbook and notice the increases after bans are lifted

    for a couple of years.

    This hurts them.

See what happens when you have extreme ideas?

I'm not happy about it. I'm delighted.

    Charges:

[...] the Witnesses are subversive foreign cultists intent on breaking up Russian families, endangering children, violating the equal rights of parents in the upbringing of their children, violating the Russian Constitution and freedom of conscience, encouraging suicide, inciting citizens to refuse both military and alternative service and inciting religious discord.

I do not like to see religious freedom banned, unless it is a family/socialy harmful cult.

think about it the jw's were banned in russia till about 1993 . i'm sure before that date there was less than 130,000 jw's in russia. in less than 10 yrs i'm sure they incresed 10x fold. (someone look it up) if the wt would have had free reign in russia since ww2 their would be at least 1 million jw's in russia. the russian know about mind control ie stalin, lenin, etc it could even be the other way around that the europeans are letting the russians do thier dirty work to slowly ban the wts. ie france, italy, germany, etc the cat is out of the bag on the wtbts. guess the wt is going to have to go back to the united nations, and lick some more ass. please mr. wild beast with 10 heads let me ride again and be one of your harlots we're being persecuted by babylon and can't finish the preaching work so jehovah will destroy you. plus we're losing souls ( i mean $$$$$$$$) how about 5% mr. wild beast on all publications sales in any new nation you open up for us. mr beast forget saddams weapon of mass death , how about some rand cam stock. etc...

Somebody should have banned Jim Jones before he he got started. No matter what,,,,JW's will stiil grow old and die just like everyone else.

Notice;all Jehovah's Witnesses who have died are all still dead.I don't think they give a hoot about the moscow decision.

I personally applaud Moscow's decision. The JW are a cult & can be very harmful to their followers.....even promoting a type of murder by non-action. Blood transfusions.

They break up families. Disfellowshipping. Disassociation. "Independent thinkers."

They recruit the (usually) uneducated. Once in......it's too late to honorably leave (except death). The person leaving either slinks away quietly & can never openly join another worship group (ugh) - or be branded as a "gross sinner."

    Waddago Moscow.

I don't know how Russia could approve of judaism and yet condemn the WTBTS for their blood doctrine which is based on mosaic law . The refusal to serve in the armed forces has been changed to a conscience matter . As far as tearing families apart I think should be a matter of freedom to associate , I don't think the government should step in on that one . I do agree that the government is only fueling the WTBTS belief structure by legislating on religion .

Russia has a problem with anything that goes against the Orthodox church. It's a theocracy that's almost as bad as those Middle Eastern countries.

Although they did do a good job in brining out how the Witnesses policies could be potentially harmful, this isn't a good thing. We all lose when free speach is squelched.

As much as I hate to say this, Go Dubs! Fight this thing!
