Heh Russia is a pretty crappy place at times. Religion is taken very seriously, and if you thought the American molestion matters of Catholics and JW's were bad, man. I dunno, I have a kind of mixed oppinion about this. If they ban it, plenty of people are going to try to be JW's anyway and get heavily persecuted for it. Now in my opinion persecution and alienation is bad in my book, so I mean legalizing it would just be terrible. I know the JW's are bad, but not every place is like America. I dunno really Im tired.

Perhaps you have wasted too much of your life as a JW and have read very little of the literature dealing with freedom.
You would have banned and perhaps killed the very founder of Chrisitianity.
Have you ever heard of "civil society"? One of the main responsibilities of Government is to protect its citizens from law breakers. But it is also the responsibility for a government to apply the law equally to ALL citizens. If you ban Jehovah's Witnesses you would have to ban ALL religion. Perhaps you aren't very familiar with the fanaticism of Russian Orthodoxy.
You also know very little about the Russian judicial system. It is literally a joke.

One thought that occured to me is the number of lives of children and adult jws that will be saved because of the ban. I am sure they will have meetings in secret ,but if there is a accident or illness that needs blood ,all jws cannot go to a hospital and say they cannot accept blood because of their religions belief,it will be administered to them. I don't know how the GB will deal with this but thousands of lives will be saved. There are so many cults there has to be a stop somewhere. Let's face it theses people are under mind control and are dieing because some old farts say that is the word of the bible which we know it is the watchtower controlling their fears and lives and thoughts.

eh, you don't have to be a JW to refuse blood. They can refuse it for any reason they choose to cook up, or for no apparent reason at all. The ban won't save lives, children are invariably taken in to state care over such issues anyway.

Your parents were not servile to the GB? Then they were not practicing JWs, imho. Comparing your childhood (as described) to that of a 'real' JW upbringing is like comparing apples to oranges.
And the Salvation Army is extremely rigid. Yes, they do good works. But I happen to know someone who was brought up in the Sally Ann, and it was no picnic. In fact, it was very much like my JW upbringing. So they are not much better than the JWs, as far as I'm concerned.
As to the question at hand,
Although I agree with Nathan Natas in principle, I don't think the ban is good in the overall picture - the world isn't saying "good for the Russians", it is saying "look at those Russians, taking away the poor JWs' civil liberties".
It gives the WTBTS yet another example of their beloved persecution. "Look! Even though democratized, Russia is still persecuting Jehover's chosen!"

This list could easily be expanded. But they are all either dangerous or controverisal or possibly destructive of society.

Rubbish. The JWs are a religion of hate, and don't give their own membership the rights they so cherish to receive from the governments that let them operate. They offer no charity and have no charities, they destroy entire families (the fundamental building block of all civilizations), treat their women as second class humans, let their own children die because of misapplication of scripture, they sap the energy and life out of their members and then cast them off like dirty dish rags. They hate all governments and pray for their destruction. They hate all religions and pray for their destruction. They hate all but their own and pray for their destruction.
I wouldn't care if they were allowed to practice their religion with but one small stipulation: they get out of the dark ages and become ethical humans.
