The audience was shocked at the degree to which JWs are separated and shunned by their family. While I met one young woman who had been totally shunned for 10 years by her family, had never seen 14 of her nieces and nephews, this was the family's personal decision and was not the directive of the RC. When these Catholics heard that elders would not take any action against abusers unless there were 2 eyewitnesses, their jaws would drop, and they were stunned. Even the RC is not that bad.

I think the whole country/world would be shocked to know how "UN-Christian "JWs really are in regards to shunning family members and the fallout that occurs. If the mainstream media ever did a REAL story on that, it would be devestating to the Tower.
