Creativity is being accident prone in any medium.

For myself: Creativity is finding something where nothing was before...and then discovering that it was already discovered.

I think that could be construed as plagerism.

Interesting, isn't it...how we like to think of ourselves as being creative---nay, we demand, insist, and stomp our feet as we yell "I am creative!!"

    Ecclesiastes comes to mind.

Creating something where there was nothing, or something of higher quality/finess where lower quality was before. It doesn't really matter if someone else already did it. If you do it yourself, bringing it out from your own depths, that is creation.

It is satisfying. Some people think that it is a necessary activity in order to feel fulfilled, or have purpose. Often, people fall into timeless, free space trance, when creating.

    Interesting.

Does that make us, individually and personally, gods?

    (Not a deferential question)

Creativity is watching others describe how creative they are and smugly knowing they are all idiots. It is also knowing that real creativity cannot be described nor defined. It just IS.

Good question. Certainly, not all people create, but i think that all are connected to the higher power, or lower power, or 'god', if you like. While people create, i think that they do reach in the direction of 'god'.

....Like "quality". That's why I loved reading "Zen, and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance."

I will leave behind two functional, well-adjusted, and relatively happy human beings. That's enough for me.

Creativity would be crossing the boundaries of logic to escape from the constraints of our own human limitations. When you can see beyond that which is tangible and embrace it.

I have no freakin idea what I just wrote. It just sounded kinda cool.

    Seeing beyond what others see.

Suggestive, but not definitive. Care to expand on what you mean?
