There only seems to be a few differences in the way the WTBTS bible varies from other interpretations . The main difference is they attempted to restore the name jehovah to it's place in the bible and they refuted the scriptures that they believe were added in to support the trinity doctrine. If you look at what king james did to the bible compared to what the WTBTS did, I think we are talking apples and oranges . King james was clearly not interested in an accurate word for word translation. I think shakespear would have been proud of him . I think the point here is more that the rich and educated made a mess of it . The catholic church had it all interpreted to latin so the common people could not read or understand it . It took some very brave people to get the scriptures away from them .

The problem is not the Jehovah Witness's TRANSLATION of the bible but their INTERPRETATION of the passages--and how those passages were meant to be applied and followed by Christians.

To me, the bible stands on its own and I can read it without the need for anyone else to "interprete" what it "means" for me. The bible does that just fine all by itself!

If you read the bible cover to cover and take it as a WHOLE, I think you will walk away with a much different impression.

I believe the Jehovah's Witnesses pick the passages of of their choosing, take them out of context and apply them in ways never intended--and by doing so, change the meaning, and make it "fit" what THEY want it to be. All organized religions do that.

This is why I believe NOT teaching the truth, nor do they know the truth,

However, in response to the poster who replied "No and no".

I think that's wrong, and that the correct answer is... Hell NO, and No F##king Way!

    However,

One of my favorite quotes about Truth.

We are always hearing of people who are around seeking after the Truth. I have never seen a (permanent) specimen. I think he has never lived. But I have seen several entirely sincere people who thought they were (permanent) Seekers after the Truth. They sought diligently, persistently, carefully, cautiously, profoundly, with perfect honesty and nicely adjusted judgment- until they believed that without doubt or question they had found the Truth. That was the end of the search. The man spent the rest of his hunting up shingles wherewith to protect his Truth from the weather.

Good point fed up . People have always controlled and manipulated with their interpretations , the've even killed each other over difference of opinion. It is so sad that a book that IMO offers answers to so many of lifes questions is cursed with so much violence leaving so many people confused as to the purpose . I do think the WTBTS is aware of some truths such as jesus was the ransom sacrifice for mankinds sins and that the bible is the inspired word of God . They do lack in complete understanding , thus the new light that keeps changing the church doctrine .

Question: How can an average man, with "no" education, interprete the Bible?

Question: Why would God, allow so many people to beleive the wrong thing for so long, up until the 1860's, without the right answers according the the JW's?

Excellent!! You are now where I was 7 years ago, after a lifetime as a JW. After you think about those questions, all the rest starts to crumble.

My advice...........RUN, and don't look back.
