The Fiery Cross, by Diana Gabaldon (5th in the 'Outlander' series)
Isn't that a great book? I love that series. I read that one last summer.
I am currently reading Patricia Cornwell's Kay Scarpetta books, and not in order. Really good. I just finished another one.
Also reading Worse than Watergate, The Secret Presidency of George Bush, by John Dean
and Founding Mothers, The Women Who Raised Our Nation, by Cokie Roberts (this one is aobut women like Abigail Adams, Deborah Franklin, Eliza Pinckney, Catherine Littlefield Green, Esther Reed, Martha Washington, and Mercy Otis Warren, an ancestor of mine. I recognized the name when I was looking at it in the bookstore so I looked her up in my family records and it's the same one........cool, eh?)
I always have two or three books going.
One of the best books I read last year was by American born Queen Noor of Jordan, Leap of Faith. Gives a whole new perspective on the Palestinian issue. Things we were never told in our news reports in the US. It's also a beautiful love story about her life with King Hussein in Jordan.
Also A Mighty Heart, by Marianne Pearl, widow of Daniel Pearl murdered in Pakistan last year.

Oops, busted! I've been following you two around like a puppy dog tonite.
Mulan,
I love her books, they are one of the best series I have ever read, and that's a lot'o books! I just got this one from the Library, though, so am going to start it tonight as soon as I get off this board.
There's a really good book I read about Saudi Arabia,,, hmm, I'll go look it up and edit this to include it. It's a GREAT read, and a true story.
Okay, it's called Princess: A True Story of Life Behind the Veil in Saudi Arabia, by Jean Sasson. It's the story of one of the daughters of the Saud family (I believe that's the correct name, it's been a few years). A must read for anyone who wants to understand what life is really like for women in Saudi. It's horrible, and she is a princess. There is also a follow up, which tells the story of her lesbian daughter. Excellent and informative reading.
PS. to Thunder, SK rocks!! You've read his nonfiction On Writing, I assume? If not, do so. You won't regret it.

Princess: A True Story of Life Behind the Veil in Saudi Arabia,
I read that one too. I also have the sequel about her daughters. Rachel took it home the other day. Can't remember the name. Sultana's Daughters, maybe? They are a good read.
