The JW concept of god is paradoxical. If he's angry and jealous, then he already did the worst he could to to humanity by taking away their immortaility at Eden. Why would he need to kill them all at once, when he's condemned them to death endlessly anyway.
WHO FEARS ARMAGEDDON?

Deities like Jehover always remind me of dictators:
- Claims absolute rule and authority
- Demands absolute submission
- Kills anyone with an opposing opinion or view
- Rewards only those who are loyal and do not question
- Claims to be loving and just, until you oppose
- Claims all good comes from it and all evil comes from opposers

Not really... It's kind of pointless for God to make armagedon scary cause aren't we gonna be dead after that? Kind of just a flaunt of power if he's gonna kill everybody in a holy array of asteroids and holy angels when they ain't even gonna remember it the next minute.
Can somebody answer this... If you love yourself and your neighbor are you still going to die? If you are, I sure as hell don't want to be with the God that kills loving people.

What most humans have come to accept about God through religion is in my opinion, wholly a creation of man in order to keep other men in subjection.
And sometimes this isn't necessarily all bad. God has been used to provide a sort of "divine authority" for moral codes passed down since the dawn of civilization. Morality is one of the foundation stones of civilization. The problem is that this concept has led to tyranny of the few over the many throughout history. I believe that religion is useful in providing a sort of "moral compass" for a society, but the danger lies in mixing religion with governments. When this happens it is unavoidable that what is essentially just the moral judgements of other men will be forced upon the people.
Of course this doesn't mean that religion must be completely removed from all dealings with government, but perhaps when they are mixed, the question we should ask is what can religion do FOR our society and not TO it.

O. S.:
JHWH can let armageddon happen in a manner nobody expects. He do not need orders of WTBS or JW`s or parts of JW`s or non-JW`s. It is a mistake to believe that God necessarily has to shelter a group which call themselves "JW`s" - only for the reason because they claim to be HIS worshippers. He can rescue all parts of human mankind, if he think they would deserve it as a result of their changed behavior, say, in the last 3 months, or during the last 3 weeks. Some people forget, that JHWH is ABSOLUTELY SOUVEREIGN in regard to HIS decisions. If he comes to the decision that ALL people worldwide should survive, then ALL PEOPLE WILL be rescued. If He comes to the decision that nobody has the right to survive (because the mankind is too bad to deserve shelter) THEN NOBODY will survive. Its soooo easy...

Keyword "if". Don't like that word at times. But all we gotta do is wait and see.

"what if we're all wrong and it is true"
omg - I just wrote that on another post. I don't feel that way anymore - but it took me a while to get over it. I am sure about my spiritual relationship and I am sure that God does not want me to be associated with a destructive cult. The other posts have said it all really. I think it just takes a while to re-program our brains after years of brainwashing.
I do think that mankind will eventually destroy the earth and our ability to survive on it. Its just part of the free choice plan. I don't understand it and don't like it but I also don't think it has anything to do with JW/WT "prophesy." We just LOVE our SUV's and continue to mindlessly destoy the ozone. But that's another topic.
I also agree that even if it is true....I opt for death over an eternity with a bunch of JW's. Now THAT would be hell!

I agree Bubbamar. I've tried on the "what if they really are right" idea before and my feeling is that if God (Jehovah, Allah, whatever) is so lacking in compassion and understanding as to kill me for not having my butt in a seat at a Kingdom Hall then I would rather die. I don't want to worship that God or live in that kind of world.
When I was a Witness, I believed it. When I stopped believing, I left. If that's not good enough, then maybe I do deserve death. Having said that, I choose to believe in a God that is kind and understanding and accepts me despite my shortcomings not because of what I produce.
And really, isn't that the lowest form of emotional blackmail? Believe in this type of God, all the while doing what we say, or die. Nope, sorry I'm out. Either way it's a subject I've got peace of mind about.

Well I used worry about the "what ifs?" alot when I was younger, however since the passing of time and the 1914 doctrine proven false and even the society revising their stance on it, I no longer believe in the WT version of Armageddon, and have chucked their whole doctrine.
