I am still waiting for the day that I come across a JW giving the pitch to somebody in a public place. Don't know if I'll have the guts to do it or not, but I'd like to go up and say to the person being witnessed to - "Did he/she get to the part about how any day now god is going to kill everybody that isn't a JW?"
Yes, I'm not above that sort of rudeness.
No, I don't fear Armageddon, or the invisible, silent deity JHVH.

No, I never did fear it.. when I was in, I used to have absolute confidence that God would do what was right. and if He decreed it then ,,so be it. I also kinda thought I was going to make it, so , frankly I pushed it to the back of my mind. I guess that is what most dubs do. Otherwise they would go mad with fear, like John Connor's mother in the second terminator film. When I opened my eyes, I realised immediately that this teaching is just not true, and i have never for one moment doubted that realisation. In fact it was that conclusion that led me to realise that the WTS was totally wrong . After all, as others have said. What kind of a god would do such a thing? No, my father is not like that

I think that the first time I stopped fearing Armegeddon was in 1984 when I realized that Buck Rogers had more credence then that. Just think, Ol' Buck has been asleep at the wheel of his shuttle for 20 years now, just like most JWs.

" As a child, yes I did. Now, I file it somewhere in between Mother Goose and Aesop's." dang, randomtask, you've made some really great posts today! and likely before, i will have to look up your past work. great stuff all. do i fear it? not a damn bit. its never coming. and even if the fairy tale were true (its not but just for sake of saying) i would rather die now having lived the past few years of my life authentically than live 'forever' in the eternal hell of a multicultural picnic with those who condemned me for leaving the man who abused me and marrying one who did not. no thanks, i'll pass on that vision of paradise. fleur

I asked too many questions about the whole idea of Armegeddon and it pissed off the Cong.Serv. so much he railroaded me out via DFing inabsentia. I never bought into it and quickly abandoned any ideas of it being remotely possible as the JUUs interpret it. Another literalistic biblical rendering used to control the ignorant masses.
