No one who is or who has been a CO or DO will raise an eyebrow at the situation you post. Reading files (yes they are often unsealed) and hearing such situations on a regular basis just inures them to it.
I remember discussing just such an unbelievable situation in person with a senior member of the Service department. He just shook his head, made some disparaging remarks about how dumb the elders are out there. Would he do something about it? Of course not. I could not hold back from noting that these "idiotic" elders are products of the Society, plain and simple. Those at the top just don't get it.
Pay careful attention to the expressions used above about the good old boy network, "buddies," and the like. This is one of the most difficult areas to deal with if you are a sincere, spiritually inclined CO who genuinely loves the flock.

You can serve God (Jehovah, if you prefer) apart from the JW's. You may be surprised to learn that there are lots of other people who love God, and he actually approves of them, and they are part of NO organization.
You are sure welcome here, though. But, I hope you change your mind about going back.

Alternative,
It's commendable that you want to serve Jehovah. But let me ask you, where is He? Is He in Brooklyn or Patterson? Is He only to be found at your local Kingdom Hall? You may think that is the case, so then, on what basis do you say that? And if He is really 'with' this organisation, don't you think that it would be reasonable to find that His "light" would be clearly seen, and that His representatives would not keep changing direction ('tacking') over doctrine?
In short, Is Jehovah really with Jehovah's Witnesses? Think about it. Please.

70 times 7 is for the forgivness of sins. you would be asking for trouble to such a one in a position of trust and teaching.

Alternative,
Your experience sounds like one I dealt with as part of the judicial committee. Yes, we were trained to consider attitude as a prime factor. In judging repentance a bad attitude would be a good ‘tell’. But you seem to feel you deserved what you got. You know better than anyone. But I agree with others here, the true Christian Congregation is quick, as Jesus was, to forgive. After two years of trying, MAN! If you had a really BAD attitude, maybe. I don’t see an attitude in your posts.Listen brother, here you are trying to get in, and here I am trying to get out, without being DF'd for “private ideas” (Aug 1, 2001) http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/forum/forum.asp?id=19&site=3
Why not read the some books first. Start with Crisis of Conscience! http://www.commentarypress.com/
Once you get back in they wont let you read them, nor can you come visit here without displaying a BAD ATTITUDE again.Jst2laws, who sat on his last judicial committee as a judge only 4 months ago and sick to admit it.

"In short, Is Jehovah really with Jehovah's Witnesses? Think about it."
Something really worthy of thinking about. From the teachings of Jesus Christ in the bible, it would be difficult to come to a positive answer to such a question. With the right information - which the WTB&TS attempts to prevent its members from accessing - the beliefs and practices of the Society cannot hold up to the scrutiny to which they have subjected other religions.

Ozziepost,
The Jehovah Witnesses organization is essentially a incorporated company. The commitee making descisions on disfellowshipping is sort of an board of directors or managers. If an elder trangresses he is removed or stepps down. It would be the same in a company, if a board member was stealing from the company or using the company for illeagal practices. Once reinstated elders start out at the bottom; once a presiding overseer now lowest member in committee[service committee]. Some congragations have only one or two elders and for 100 members or more. It's very hard under those kind of conditions to maintain order. Would someone asks two or three people to supervise 100 workers, and make sure no one makes mistakes. Its very hard. No one is perfect...

Goodness me! This thread is 9 months old!
I guess it's your intention jwcah for us to revisit it and that's fine although it may be a bit stale now.
Anyway, to address your comments, I'm afraid I can't go past the first sentence. You may have observed that a congregation is like an unincorporated company but that's a far cry from an association of Christian brothers united by the headship of Christ, isn't it?
There is NOTHING in the NT to indicate a company structure for congregations. Okay, I agree that corporations hadn't come into existence in the first century, but hey! that's even more reason to be cutious about inferring that Jehovah backs such an arrangement, isn't it?
I note your last comment "No one is perfect" and would remind you that that is precisely why Jesus is our head and our mediator. We don't have to be concerned with taking the responsibility for his sheep.
BTW welcome aboard! Hope to see much more from you.
Cheers,

Most disfellowshipped people have the wrong attitude. I am also trying to comeback. Ive been out for 6 months. I was a really good kid in the congregation.(im 19 now)I was on numerous assembly parts , pioneered , volenteered, but I got involved in some really bad things. I hopeu come back .Im trying to have the same determination u have . These past 6 months have been really tough. We'll do it though .
