That's odd. What's teh difference between that and a woman getting her tubes tied?

Something about causing intentional damage to your body, I think. I don't have the WT Lib in front of me so I can't look it up, but several years ago I was considering it and was told I could no longer be an MS if it happened (assuming people knew about it).

My bro-in-law was clipped and he's still an MS... but it wasn't ~~pubic~~ I mean public knowledge.

Women don't serve in "positions of power" so it's not an issue. It's one of those "conscience" matters that may prevent you from having any "privileges" in the cong if you choose unwisely.

When I married for the second time, I already had 3 children. My new husband had never been married, and didn't want any more children.

He approached his elder father & brother for advice on a vasectomy and they told him same as the above posts - and the reason:

Men & women aren't supposed to mutilate their bodies. If a man does that & it's known, then he can't be a MS or Elder.

They said there was no problem if I have my tubes tied, however. Unspoken was the reason. There are no titles or positions for women in the WTBTS. Mutilate them all ya want.

Btw, I had my tubes tied. Quite uncomfortable for a couple of days.

I knew of a woman with 5 kids that got he tubes tied. The elders frowned on it.

When i got mine snipped errrrrr tied, lol The doctor asked me if i was really sure. He said we cant reverse it and you will never be able to have babies again.

Self mutilation......... I never could understand why it was acceptable for the women to have pierced ears. Some sisters even had multiple ear piercings. Wouldnt this be considered self mutilation? Oh wait, it's socially acceptable, I forgot.

Chevys, thats why my elder ex was strait dead against me getting multiple holes in my ear, and refused to let our daughter have her ears pierced!

After our second child died I had it done. I never told the ding-dong duds and just went on as an MS. Never regretted it. But I do have a child, (she'll be 20 in Sept.), I sure would not have missed out on that! Mav
