I've never hit anything myself (and feel slighty squeamish here in thread full of KILLERS) but my ex hit a racoon once when I wasn't with him....then he took it...skinned it....and wanted me to cook it for him. uuummmm HELL NO!

*note* do not marry hillbillys from Arkansas unless you want to end up cooking roadkill....or be the First Lady....or possibly both.

Xena that is so funny, But so true here in Oklahoma too may I never be that hungry.

You guys are so funny! Needed the laugh this morning!

Nikita, your story about hubby hitting the deer reminds me of when I took a class to get my CDL. the driving instructor told us about someone he knew that hit a deer they were in a new car and had all the windows down,The accident caused the deer,a doe to have her baby C-section like. The baby was in the back floor, The baby was saved....sad but cool that the baby lived and someone hand raised it.

Undecided, One of my nephews hit a car once, actually the car made a U turn into the lane my nephew was driving in . Nephew was in a large service truck actually drove upon the car and pushed the car along with him.The driver 1 of 5 people in the car, was killed... Ironic to this thread... the driver had made a U turn prior to this he and his passengers had made a bet on something DEAD in the road and he went back to identify what it was!! to win the beat... nephew was 26 years old when it happened been about ten years ago still suffers grief from it...

Brummie,I understand how bad it feels to hit animals, lots of turtles get ran over here and thats sad,

bem gets upset when she hits a butterfly.

it seems like there are many depressed, suicidal animals in my state, and they all come out when I'm on the road

Oh, this is so terrible! We were coming home rather late tonight, and at the intersection by my one-block street I saw in the middle of the street a runned-over cat that had a collar -- obviously someone's pet... and the cat was black in color, and I so much hope it's not the black cat that occasionally wanders into my yard. :(((( I like that cat so much. And I wondered if it would have been best to move the cat to the side of the road, but frankly I didn't think I could really do that. And I wanted to call all the neighbors on the block to see whose cat it was, to report the sad news and so they can take care of the remains before someone else drives over the cat, but I realized it was 11pm and too late to call. :((

I ran over our own cat a couple of years ago and she had to be put down she ran out of the hedge straight under the side of the car while I was reversing out and the back wheel caught her.

I felt terrible and was a blubbering wreck in the vets surgery and I've still not told the kids it was me. They think some other car did it and I didnt correct them

We have 2 new cats now because the kids missed her.
