the closest the average JW gets to the Watchtower is the CO, and the CO tries to remain a moving target

    #######

excellent point i have been saying that for years - the wt want to stay in the back ground

the avg jw gets mad at the elders and maybe the co, but NEVER THE DO OR THE SOCIETY

they are so high above the reach of the avg jw it ain't funny, just listen to a group of jw complain about how unloving the elders are or the co,but never will you hear them say how unloving it was for the gb to send young men to prison for alternative service and then years later nlam them for having TOO STRICT OF A CONSCIENCE- smile

    great post

Yes, as well as a lot of other things.

    I prefer capital punishment...

and a limit on how many questions one person can ask. LOL

Car dealers are deceptive too. So what?

    Mr. Phantom:

Yeah, kill them too! God can sort it all out, eh? Capitalism, communism, socialism, JWism, exJWism, every-other-ism; it's all just a game that we play with each other, as we meander through our inexorably social co-existence.

It would be a public service if JW's were banned, however in our free society that wouldnt be possible. I think there ought to be a law forbidding baptized minors from getting disfellowshipped or else having the choice to rescind it before you reach legal age. You know the government doesnt have to outright ban anything, they can just complicate it with a bunch of legal mumbo jumbo-for instance the right to bear arms, that right has been totally abridged in this country-why not do the same for religion?

No I wouldn't, I do believe that every one should have the freedom tobelieve what they choose, but I would change their policies on disfellowshipping and shunning. Also there polcies on divorce and marriage.

um shunning is a personal freedom.

The state has polcies on divorce and marriage not JWs.

As for minors and blood it is all PR children do die but it is legally not the watchtowers fualt and they make sure of it. I know the blood issue when it comes to minors it is all hype. Sure you'll have elders, HLS, crying parents, angry Doctors, but it is all a PR engine and nothing more. The parents will be tricked the child will be transfused and the elders will pretend it never happend.

As for adults refusing medical treatment is a person freedom.

I think the problem every is getting at is unaminity. You dislike that normaly one or two people will use their rights and piss off the system, but with groups like JWs serveral thousand people will be pissing off the system because they all believe simular things. Sofar in a free society their is no way to prevent this unless you take the right to assymble.

JWs DO have policies on divorce and marriage! If a JW tells the elders that their husband admitted to her that he was guilty of adultery yet would vehemently deny it to the elders, if the elders decided to believe the man over the woman, she could not get a scriptural divorce. If she subsequently remarried, she would be guilty of adultery in the elders eyes! So they are clearly telling you that unless THEY believe the person, you will not have grounds to end a And they will shun you! marriage and remarry! And they will shun you, too!! And that is forced upon the membership. If one ignores the disfellowshipping, they can get df'd too.

What does a parochial custom have to do with the state? The state says to enter a marriage you have to terminate your old one. The elders only have the power to marry people. The state divorces them.
