Hey guys check it out!!!!!!!!!!!It was 1995 that the society changed their mind and cancelled the new system as many of us had been to taught to believe it. The concept of what a generation refers to has been completely changed... refer to WT 11/1/95 pg17 for the exact quote. In hindsight I figured something had to be done to cover their asses because there is NO new system and it is NOT coming....sorry guys. Ray Franz refers to the fact that they would eventually do this way before they actually had in his book "Crisis of Conscience" if youre really interested email me and I will find that quote as well.
This generation has by no means passed away.

XQ, I think you have misunderstood. The article you quote does not support the idea that:
"....."this generation" only meant the people jesus was talking to, and it was fullfilled in 70 ce."
The JW's have always taught that the prophetic elements in the Olivet discourse have two fulfillments, one among Jesus' contemporaries and the second in the world post 1914. The exact same article you quote under the subheading "Another Fulfillment To Come" goes on to state:For decades now, Jehovah?s Witnesses have taught that the current fulfillment of the sign proves that a "great tribulation" is yet to come. The present wicked "generation" will see that tribulation. It seems that there will again be an opening phase (an attack on all false religion), just as Gallus? attack in 66 C.E. opened the tribulation on Jerusalem. Then, after an interval of unspecified length, the end will come?destruction on a worldwide scale, paralleling that in 70 C.E.
This in no way contradicts the 11/95 article. -

The present wicked generation is the generation of 1999 when the aritcile was published not 1914. They contradict themselves. Infact due to them stating it how they did traditionally it would be interpeted as what ever generation is reading it. So 50 years from now that will be the generation it is talking about and the prediction they'll see the the great tribulation. Because it used the word "Present" and "will".

WTS doctrine is so fuzzy they can't even manage it. Even to this date, they still have "Old Light" in watchtower.org with respect to the generation of 1914. The "old light" can be found in the following brochures:
"Look! I Am Making All Things New":
"This generation will by no means pass away until all these things occur." Some, at least, of the generation that saw the "beginning of pangs of distress" in 1914 will live to see Paradise restored on earth. (Matthew 24:3-8, 34)
What Is the Purpose of Life? How Can You Find It?:
Jesus said regarding the era that would experience the "beginning of pangs of distress" from 1914 onward: "This generation will by no means pass away until all these things occur." (Matthew 24:8, 34-36) Thus, all the features of the last days must take place within the lifetime of one generation, the generation of 1914. So some people who were alive in 1914 will still be alive when this system comes to its end. That generation of people is now very advanced in years, indicating that there is not much time left before God brings this present system of things to an end.
This is totally ridiculous. They themselves don't have any esteem for their own doctrine. They simply don't care enough to make changes to the site. No wonder they put the New World Translation online only after seven years of the official site's inception on the Web.
