Since I rejected the whole scenario of Harmegeddon as a litteral event, I was never plagued by "keeping watch" literally either, mini! Virtually all the apoctalyptic texts are not intended for literal interp so all the bird stuff and earthquates etc. is a facade!

I always realized that today was all I had and to live in it. There is no way anyone can live in the future (unless you have a time machine and that is a different story). We can only live in the present. Once I realized that, I never worried.

not really, now that I think about it. my mother was hyper-paranoid. she would see a dark rain cloud and panic---"get out your Watchtowers and start studying NOW!!"

I think with all the pre-75 warning we got many of us who were around then were "on the watch". Some were more on the watch than others going so far as to have 3 years of food stored up in their homes. But I know I was wondering how we would manage. It didn't help that my mother was warning me that I would have to run to the mountains (north of Montreal) to hide with my children - yup she was always warning me of that

Yes. I was. I conjured up all kind of things to "prove" these were the end times. Like the Berlin Wall coming down meant Jehovah was opening up the communist world to the Truth. That Islam would get turned on as proof of false religion biting it. Ridiculous circular reasoning. I was a very silly man.
